Spline lube

I have had the rear wheel off for tire changes and cleaned lubed the splines and replaced 3 O-rings several times. This year when I do rear wheel maint. I also want to pull driveshaft and clean/lube splines on both ends and inspect U-Joint as I have never done this. Any advice or is this pretty straight-forward.

Pretty straight forward. Do a search for some valuable pointers getting the u-joint and splines lined up and back together.
One last note, BE SURE to get the rubber boot back on and set in the groove all the way around. the boot protects the whole output shaft, u-joint area from water and road dirt.
This part, in my opinion, is about the most frustrating part.

There are several approaches,, are you planning on pulling the ujoint out to inspect it, or inspecting it in place through the boot?

Was just going to inspect U-joint in place, main reason to remove is to check splines and grease so I dont have any surprises on the road, but I could remove if need be.

Going that route there should be no surprises.... as F6Viking said, there is info here to help the job go smoothly. Do a search on driveline and ujoint to get some good tips.
I'm with you, check that driveline and grease er up!
