And not messing the paint or chrome up? I am thinking about a hair dryer, wd 40/ goo gone and a fishing line. I've done it before on small stuff but I'm wanting to take the radiator chrome off and some other big stuff.  Undecided

Radiator chrome?  I will assume you are talking about removing the orange reflectors to gain access to the bolt that holds the chrome radiator end covers on.
Heavy fishing line will work.  cooldude

I've heard charcoal lighter fluid will work. Ive tried it with mixed results. Fishing line is good.

I was able to remove the reflectors on the radiator trim with a single edge blade without tearing anything up,, the residue then was easy to clean up by rolling it up with a finger and using goo gone. The original tape on mine was just a thin strip around the periphery of the reflector,, easy to get to with the blade.

During the heat of the day, of the day the bike was purchased, I hooked a thumb nail under the edge and gently pulled up being careful not to gouge the opposite end I was lifting.  Then I scraped the rest off with my thumb nail and polished with Pledge.  This took awhile as the thumb nail had to heal between attempts.

Just for craps and giggles,  if the tape is thick dbl sided tape, use dental floss btwn the two pieces and saw it apart.  Then remove the sticky stuff with goo gone.  I took the interstate logo off my bags this way.  No damage to the bags or the emblem.
