I don't take credit for this idea, I think maybe Wayne came up with it from somewhere and I heard it from a guy at a convenience store in Gainesville one day that worked at the U of F. But here goes anyway for those of you that don't already know. Get yourself a spray bottle you know the kind with the manual sprayer on them you can buy them at Dollar General or Walmart. Then get yourself some of the brown bottles of hydrogen peroxide, I get them from Dollar General too. Put it in the sprayer and squirt the love bugs religiously every day that stick on the front of your car or motorcycle when you get home. Don't wait a couple of days. They will foam up, the peroxide dissolves the eggs that make them so sticky. Let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes then wash off, most will come off, you will have to rub a little with some soap and water, but a lot easier than if you had not used the peroxide.

I have shared this tip with so many people. They are all amazed at how well it works. A person I work with (HD guy...I'm just saying)..just took a 3-M pad (the green kind) and Windex and went to town on his fairing, windshield and gas tank. They are all so scratched it's unbelievable. I told him about the HP trick and he just got sick. Live and learn. Thanks for the update Terry.

I use hydrogen peroxide in my dental water pic all the time. I'm going to try this for bugs..... with the added benefit if you have a cut finger, it is a great germ killer.

Remember when it was $35 to get your teeth cleaned.......... now pushing $200 with xrays. So I do my own, and water pic with hydrogen peroxide and a shot of Listerine does wonders for dental hygiene. |

Think I passed this info to a few people but can't take credit for it being my idea. A rider (Older than me) yes he was....(even older than John) told me about it at a ride-in several years ago.
Somebody mentioned using Windex.......Please Don't! It'll screw up your windowsill. Causes the coating on the plastic to fog over..........

Going to give it a try!
A couple of sections going north on Rt 301 toward Webster are so bad I have to give up riding up to the flea market for a few months during the season. I have seen them so thick that they look like smoke from a tire fire. The trucks coming south can attest to that.
Jess, my mother gargled with H2O2 most of her life and had all her teeth in the end. She swore by the stuff. Said that's why her teeth were so healthy.
Off the beaten path there used to be a saying in chemistry about little Jonny that confused H2O2 with H2SO4....or something like that and, Jonny was no more. Anywho, that too was a long time ago.

The peroxide is good for aging, receding gums as well as plaque. Also a big plus for tobacco users.
Sulfuric acid is not the right stuff.

My co-worker said to dampen a dryer sheet and use it.
Tried it on some bugs on the Jeep windshield that had been on there for a few days.
Worked amazingly well ! Haven't tried the peroxide yet but its on my list.
