I'm just starting to customize my 98 Valkyrie Tourer.  One of the first upgrades that I would like to make is to add a nice, classic lightbar - something that will suit the size and proportions of the big Valkyrie.

I am having a tough time finding a lightbar that will work with the Honda windshield on the Tourer.  I've searched a ton of threads here at VF.com but I'm having trouble determining which bars will work with the OEM windshield on the Tourer.

So far I've seen many names mentioned (National Cycle, Big Bike Parts, Cobra, Kuryakyn, custom world, Fehling, etc, etc,) and it makes me a little dizzy.

I would appreciate feedback from the community on which lightbars work with the Tourer windshield.

Thanks in advance!

People really like the Cobra one, but since they don't make them anymore, they're hard to find and cost around $500.00, unless
you find a dusty set in a Honda shop somewhere, that's what I'd like to find  cooldude

I have this guy's deflectors, I like them, and he offers a version that works as a light bar (you supply the lights,
HDL has some to choose from)...

The chrome peeled off my buddy Henry's Kuryakyn light bar, don't know why...

I like my motolights, but they're just functional, and don't count as bling...

Hey partner, which ones is it that you don't think will work?

National, Big Bike, Cobra, to name 3 of your ones listed, ALL work with the Tourer shield.

I have the Cobra, but like mentioned, only place you will fine one now is off of Evil Bay.

Rivco made one, also might find one of those off of Evil Bay.......

THE COBRA SYSTEM AND CUSTOM WORLD SYSTEM LOOKS THE BEST IN MY OPINION.  I HAVE BOTH AS WELL AS AN EXTRA COBRA SYSTEM THAT MAY BE  READY TO HIT THE "FOR SALE" CATEGORY SOON.  IT.WONT BE CHEAP BUT..............IF YOU GOT TO HAVE ONE IT IS WORTH IT.  I HAVE IT SOLD BUT IT HAS NOT BEEN PAID FOR AND LOOKS LIKE IT MAY BE AVAILABLE SOON.  $550.  IT IS AS "NEW".

I have the Cobra Billet lightbar and love it.
Picked it up  about 3  months ago from a Honda dealer that found it hidden in their stockroom.
It was still in a sealed package, paid $100.00 for it  Grin

just a follow up question....how complicated is a lightbard installation (with lights/) ?  is it something your average rider can do with normal tools and  knowledge? or should it be left for the dealer??

I took my National Cycle off and replaced it with this from Headwinds.  Not big and fat like the valk & most of the lightbars, but beautifully manufactured and chromed.  The lower triple tree cover is one part number, then you add your choice of lights.
