and wanted to order the complete black Tourer OEM saddlebags and mounting kit from HDL what part numbers would I use? The fiche looks like I would have to order every single part individually. Makes the Corbin beetle bags look cheap at $1600. Speaking of the beetle bags how many have them and how do you like them?

Full sets of mounts and bags are on the bay nearly every week. About $1000-$1200. Some parts are no longer available on hdl. I bought extra sets and am painting them black to match my next valk. The bags are the most important accessory,IMHO.

That bag looks like a National Cycle bag. Not OEM. Please correct me if I'm wrong.....

I watched the guy buy them yesterday. The listed the starting price at the same price he bought them. I don't know what the mounts run though. They do look like national cycle painted illusion blue. Not a bad paint job.

Based on the lid in this picture, I'd say NO. Those look like the ones Scott is referring to, but kind of hard to tell from their picture. Reflector also doesn't look quite right for a stock one.

I can't remember if it came with the mounting hardware or not but if it doesn't, you can go to ACE Hardware and get chrome mounting hardware if you want. Very easy install. As a matter of fact I think I used the hardware that I had with my Honda OEM hardbags after I sold them to attach the Corbins.

They were bought at that price,$78 for one side,$150 for the other. Another seller is now reselling them at a profit,as the starting bid is what he paid yesterday.

two comments on this thread .....from experience. one, unless something has changed....EXCEPT FOR BUYING COMPLETE SET OF BAGS on Ebay or from an individual....IF you go to buy from a DEALER or VENDOR, Honda ONLY sold the bags "aftermarket" as parts. Like 100 or so INDIVIDUAL parts. I had a neighbor (in the country) who wanted to add bags to his Valk....decided to order from the dealer. they had to look up EVERY single part on microfish.....and order EVERY SINGLE PART...even lock tumblers....screws....seals....like i said...about 100 parts! oh, NO INSTRUCTIONS for putting those parts together!!! So, when all his parts finally came in, he asked to borrow my Valk for about a week in hopes of figuring out how to put all those parts together! AND....he was a TOP notch mechanic for Ford...so he wasn't clueless. he told be it was a real bear trying to figure out how all those parts went together!!!! he also wound up with one key for ignition, one key for LEFT saddlebag, and one key for RIGHT saddlebag. (yes...i think eventually he went to a locksmith and got them all keyed for one lock???) Buying "bags" thru a Honda dealer ....is NOT probably for the feint of heart On Champion bags, Sherry had a pair of the ones Scott mentioned on her Road Star years ago. YES, they looked VERY much like stock Valk bags. YES, OTHER THAN THE LATCHES, they were top notch. Her latches were CRAP.....but that was back about 2000 or 2001. So if they've improved the latches, you SHOULD be pleased with Champions! I think the mount on the Road Star was NOT to MY HIGH STANDARDS....but i improved the mount. i think the mount for Valks WAS very good. Anyway, the only complaint i really had on her OLD Champions for her Road Star....were those old latches. They were CHEAP...and both sides eventually malfunctioned. One time, she had her helmet locked in the bag. went to go unlock the bag.....NO GO! she had to get a ride to the local Honda/Yamaha shop, BORROW a helmet....and ride home and let me work on the lock. It took me an hour or so to "pick it" to get it open again. Eventually, she had to QUIT using the lock function, as it was useless and always malfunctioning! Again, if they have improved those latches, I would endorse the Champion bags as first rate!

Thats a sharp bike...Might just be me but I'd rather have that as a Rune and it has room for a toothbrush and a change of drawers

it was a nice bike.........BUT.........it just doesn't compare to the Rune. The Rune runs faster, smoother, stops quicker, draws more of a crowd If we could of kept FIVE bikes.....maybe it would have stayed.....but i only have room for FOUR in the garage....so the Road Star had to go. besides, she's got a Valk Tourer for when she wants to carry a toothbrush Wait, we have "glove boxes" on the Runes...so...we actually can carry some stuff in the Corbin Glove box on the backrest.....

Wow, those Champions look great!! Thanks Scott for the link and thank everyone for the replies. Scott, do you know offhand about how much those bags are? And how much the mounting hardware might be? I may have to stick with the Leatherlykes for now as the wife doesn't think I should spend over a $1000 on the Valk at this moment!! Question to self, get rid of the Leatherlykes or get rid of the wife
