Hi All, I was sent a flyer for a teddy bear ride on 11/2 In McKinney.

Information here;

http://www.cacplano.org/TeddyBearRide.htm

I went last year and there were 300+ bikes.  We had a police escort all the way to the Children's Advocacy Center in Plano; they even stopped traffic on 75 south for us.  It was an awe inspiring ride on par with the RFK.

Is anybody else planning on making this ride?  Sounds like a worthy event to support. Larry

I was reading on the event page and saw this;

"16th Annual Teddy Bear Ride

Join us on Sunday, November 2nd for the annual ride which is one of the fastest growing motorcycle rides in the area.   Last year 800 motorcycles, with hundreds of passengers and cheering supporters generated $30,000 in revenue and brought over 3,500 teddy bears to CCCAC."

I was way off guessing 300 bikes.  It was a memorable event for me, the squad cars stopping traffic on 75, hundreds of people waving from overpasses and lining the streets.  All for $10 or a teddy bear.

We should meet and ride together if anyone else is going; they pack the bikes tight like at the RFK’s so once you are parked, there you are.  The starting point is McKinney high school; right behind the theatre on 75 Central.  We could meet at the theatre.

I go every year with the Southern Cruisers and everyone is welcome to join us on the ride.  Below are the ride details so you can catch us in Lewisville or Plano.

" All,

Sunday, Nov. 2nd is the annual Collin County Toy run.  This is one of many benefit runs you'll see posted here but this is a ride we have traditionally done every year.

If you would like to ride with me, let's meet at the Lewisville Sonic (380 E Round Grove Rd) at 6:45 am and KSU at 7:15.  The plan is to ride to get breakfast at Poor Richard's at 2442 Ave K in Plano.  We will meet members the Collin Co Chapter there and other chapters there to socialize a bit, then we will ride as a group to the staging area at McKinney High School.  the actual ride starts at 11:00.

Flyer HERE.

Hope to see you there!

Sooooo, does the VRCC have an official meeting place and time?  I have no rotations/exams/or critical care patients this sunday.  Now, if nobody breaks anything, I'll be there. Larry

Sooooo, is anyone meeting anywhere other than with the Southern Cruisers?  Poor Richard's is a great place for breakfast.  That's where I / we'll be.

BTW, Poor Richard's is in the southeast quadrant of Ave K & Park.

It was great seeing everyone yesterday at the Teddy Bear Run.  I took some pictures and they can be seen by clicking on the following link.

We were there, sorry we didn't see ya'll till the parade! I'm sure some of you saw DragonBrethe, though she don't look like a Valk anymore!  This was our 6th year, and according to JR, ( coordinator,) there were over 1,000 bikes participating this year! I'll post the #'s when available!

Hope to see ya @ the Big Texas Toy run, but as usual, we'll be staging @ Sundance Square! Any body in this neck of the woods want to join us, send me an email from www.dragonbrethe.com

There's also a Turkey Run put on by the Fort Worth Cycle Club on Sunday, Nov 23rd. See website for details   www.cyclecluboffortworth.org
