I wish I could recall who the interviewer was, but believe it was sometime last year and he was interviewing various Treasury Secretaries(among others) of both the current and former administrations. The general consensus of those interviewed was that BOTH parties were to blame for the current mess, but the consensus also was the Democratic party was probably more culpable. At that time, all but one referred back as far as the Carter administration re. the major cause of the finanacial mess and his laying the groundwork for the housing downfall as we see it today....although it does seem to be slowly coming back.
