« on: July 06, 2009, 12:44:06 PM »

We're coming back west of the metromess this week for the monthly club meeting.  Note that this is election night and the last night of Speedo and RainMaker as officers of your club. Thanks to SideCar (Gary) for setting this meeting up for us.

We hope to see all of you there!

RainMaker

We're all set for this Thursday, July 9 at 7:00 at La Hacienda Ranch for some great Tex-Mex food.  The reservation is under VRCC at 7:00 and we'll be in the Trophy Room.  Address and phone info are below.  The restaurant is on the West side of Highway 121 between Glade and Hall-Johnson on the stretch of 121 just South of Grapevine.

Small piece of trivia is that La Hacienda Ranch is owned by the guy who invented the frozen margarita machine back in 1971, which is now in the Smithsonian Museum.

Speedo will be there to hand  off the gavel.
The flavor of the club has changed
What we need is a social director to announce the monthly meeting place.
Job function: Send out an email to announce the place and post it also on the board.
So let's have 12 helpers who volunteer to set up a meeting site.

All of you who won't come to this meeting because this is to far for you to travel.
This is your chance to get even, pick a place convenient to you.

Those of you who have arranged the previous meetings (David, Dave, Larry, Jean, Gary) Thank you!
Can you do this once a year?

How about anybody else, dare to pick a month?
This is your club, not our club.
You have a stake in keeping your club going.

Ask not what your club can do for you, but what you can do for your club!

Come Thursday, not your Captain anymore

See you folks tonight. If you're coming from the North, don't miss the Hall-Johnson exit off 121.  It's right after the 360 split off.  Then stay on the service road through the light and about halfway to the next light, you'll see it on your right.  If you're coming from the South on 121, take the Hall-Johnson exit and make a U under 121 to come back to La Hacienda.

I probably will not make it to the meeting tonight. I have a previous commitment, if it gets out early I may head that way but for now it looks doubtful. Everyone ride safe.

I really wish that I could be there to personally say thanks to Speedo and Rainmaker for all that they have done for this thing.

Sorry, but a heartfelt virtual thank you will have to do.

Thanks Speedo!  cooldude
Thanks brother Rainmaker!  cooldude

BTW Speedo and Rainmaker, please don’t abandon us like our leaders of old. We need you guys, hope to see you around often!

Hey ValkPilot, aka David~  Thank you for once again reminding us all that the ole fat lady still has the stuff to bring around some fresh new faces that are sure to be fast friends!

David is from Corinth. Rides a '98 Standard with IS bags. One of a kind leather saddle custom shaped using a standard Honda seat pan. Kinda like Corbin meets a skinny Russell Day Long that is cheating with a stock Honda and knocking off the Ultimate stitching.

Welcome, Valkpilot!  Thanks for braving the heat and increasing to 30% the percentage of Davids to Attendees.  Take out the ladies and it was 37.5%!

An experience I am sharing with you this morn, Gary! Janet called it right on when she called it "food coma"! Great food. Best service I have experienced in some time!
