I wanted to post a big thank you to fordmano and his brother.  Yesterday they took the time to do the redeye shiny desmog, install the R&M belly tank, and a Kuryakyn spark plug/valance cover on my bike.  Afterwards, they wouldn't even let me take them out for dinner, and instead his wife made a delicious dinner for us.  There is no way I would have been able to do it without them; I owe them big time.

Now I can ride over 200 miles without stopping for gas.  I don't have to worry about hydrolock anymore.  I don't have to worry about the potential for the bike to run poorly from any of those many smog vacuum lines developing a leak.  The chrome spark plug/valance cover really completes the chromed out look of the motor.  I do love the safety chrome Smiley

Here is a photo of all the stuff removed from a '97 California Standard during a desmog:

Light moves faster than sound.  That's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Very cool. Believe it or not, you can unload that stuff on E bay. I put mine on there at a "Buy it Now" price and someone did!

We were happy to help out but the biggest thanks has to go out to my Bro-In-Law.
His biggest motivation to come help was how jacked up my back has been the last two weeks.
And we both enjoy this stuff, all things mechanical and helping someone out are very enjoyable.

Appologies for how slow all the work went I was not running full speed due to pain. I am paying for all that movement today, can hardly stand up again. I think all the movement and work and comradery kept my mind and body away from pain.

Sure was glad to get your text this morning letting me know you made it home safely, and added bonus was finding out the bike ran as well or better than before my meat hooks man handled her.   I would still like to check the synch check on the carbs just curious to see.

The wife and I have talked about hosting BBQ and local ride maybe up to Alice's and back I am just not a ride/route planner at all. Maybe someday?

Aint it amazing how much "stuff" you can take off.

I've helped a couple of times (the helper - not the doer).

No doubt about it.   I also know some really nice folks on other brands.

Though most of them are jealous when they see the Valkyrie.  Wink
