What a ride! or life is full of surprises.
We came home in a rent a car today around 3:30 pm .we did Dallas-houston in 3 hours.Des Moines airport to Houston in 20 1/2 hors .4,5 of which stopped in a Wallmart parking lot in a rain storm (2:00 -6.30 am). more rain in Huntsville
Left the bike in Indianola IO. .The stealers first charged $134.00 for rewiring the starter relay Wink declared all systems go. one hour later we re back, no horn no tach. 'oh thats the battery' $97.00 . charges it .I install it. no charge fom the alternator. the kuryakin meter has only one green light at 5k rpms the meter reads 12.43 V .no juice . they ll put one in ,oh ,not till wednesday and that ll be $636.00 +$160.00 to install .I felt like the one between the rock and the hard place. so the bike is in Des moines and I ll pick it up next week.
It was good to see EarlyBird stop on the side of hyw 35 to lend a hand and Teryl, (spelling) .Jo studebaker s wife stopped twice to assist .Thanks .
alot of hardley riders went by no one stopped .but a beemer rider made the effort to slow down. 2funny
any one has an alternator?
Thanks . Fred

I'm not gonna be home 'til next week.  I left InZane one day early to ride over to Oneonta, NY to meet my wife and son.  Aidan is playing a baseball tournament at the Cooperstown All Star baseball park this week and the tourny started today.  We're 1-0-1 so far.  Aidan has hit well as the lead off batter for his ream with four hits including a double and a home run!

FYI, this place has it goin' on for the parents, too...

Be home some time next week!

Hey Fred, I have a spare alternator, if any of the down south Inzaners are passing through Dallas maybe I could hand it off.  I wouldn't be able to ship until Tuesday.

HayHauler and I started the day Tuesday in Pauls Valley, OK.  KSU about 8:45.  We fueled up in Valley View and I split off in Sanger for a scenic last few miles.  I got in about 11:30 today.  3,150 miles.  Not my record, but almost 3 times last year's total!

Hopefully, Jimmy made it through Dallas without delay and can miss some of the rush hour in Houston.

Thanks for the great time, everybody.

It's going to take some work to get all the MN/IA fireflies off the front of my bike.  Wow.

It's great to be back in Texas, but I gotta tell you something.  Once the temperature broke in WI, it was much better than earlier in the week.  THEN, as I continued north to catch up with TP, Stude31, and HayHauler on the north shore of Lake Superior, it just got cooler and cooler and...  Having to wear a jacket liner and close the Baker Air Wings in July is SWEET!

Oh, to be able to winter down here and summer somewhere else...

Still on the road, great to see everyone at Inzane. My wife, brother and sister-in-law got to see what it is all about. Got kicked out of Canada, left the passports at home, came out of Michigan from the north, thru Detroit and up to Niagra Falls, 2 days in NYC, 3 in Philly and now bedded down in Washington, DC. We are headed to Savanah, Ga., then homeward by Saturday and Sunday. Total of approx., 6K miles by car, hated to leave all those Valkyries.

FB and I got back Sunday evening..... been kinda reluctant to post, because we had to trailer FB's Spyder to Springfield Mo.  So it wasn't like we rode all the way... kinda embarrassing.
The Spyder had a heat issue... actually melted the top of the brake master cyl , and was boiling the gasoline in the tank.  Contacted BRP, and they contacted our deal in Sringfield...( the dealers in Houston pretty much suck)  BRP is still looking into the issue, Had some long discussions with BRP..... BRP told our shop to let me in the back.... do the items that I told them that we felt needed to be done.. and they would pay for it.  Made some modifications... added some heat shielding, replaced the brake master cyl.... It was burnt and the fluid was black.... changed the mapping on the fuel injection...  and took off for Inzane from there.  Long story short... 2000 mile to and from, the heat issues are gone, FB's bike got better mileage and ran better....  So.. that is the good news!!!!!  Went back to the dealer, tore the bike apart, flushed the brakes... everything looked good!!!!!!  bad news is we trailer 1/2 the way ... and had to hang my head in shame going to and from Springfield... Embarrassed
Yep.. we are the test dummies.... but at least FB is riding!!!!!!   Others with the same issue have had their bike in the shop for weeks, with no answer to fix them....What we found we will feed back to BRP.

No shame there brother Glue.  At least we got to visit with you and FB up at IZXIII.  It was just as hot up there as it is here.....  rode 1300 miles one way to get away from the heat... yeah right!

We arrived home Sunday evening, after dropping off my Brother and his wife, spent the night with the Son and Grandson Saturday night. Grandson desided he would spend rest of the summer with us, so he came along for the ride home. We covered 16 States and one District (??????). Lots of good site seeing.
T.P., your hospitality is unparalelled, along with the rest of the Texans and the Paterson Brothers. Hope to get up there and share some wind with those two warriors. HG, this is proof I can drive a car and ride a bike at the same time. Hay, you can blame it on T.P.

Looks good on ya Eli!  Maybe you should think about painting one of those spare Valks blue?

Glad I got to visit for a while with you and meet your brother.

Sounds like a heck of a trip.

From your post Charlie, you covered a lot of miles, did a lot of things, but they all got lost in a lot of fun. Five times.

Don't want Jimmy Hay to think I'm  a copycat, but it is an impressive color and it happens to  be one of my favorites. Keep nudging, maybe he'll give up the copyrights.
