Had the lady in the shop for some preventive maintenance and some accessory work.  Got her back yesterday.

Good news is the splines looked great so those are good to go for another round.  Tires and petcock rebuild on the to-do list for the next go-round.

Had a pair of 55w driving bullets mounted on the highway bars.  Just something to break up the single light look for safety.  Haven't gotten it out at night yet for a look see.

Luggage rack put on.  Had to drill out the bottom holes just a touch to line up with the sissy bar bolts but it looks good and gives me a place to mount the travel bag for next weeks trip.

Here's a view from the front of the windshield.  You can make out the top of the speakers and the GPS.

Here's the control panel.  The AC adapter and GPS mount are hooked up to the windshield bolts to get them elevated and off the handlebars.  I can bring the GPS down for a "cleaner" look but elevated like that gets it closer to eye level for safety and also to tilt it a bit for me to see.

Amp is mounted under the seat so an auxiliary cable from the amp to the tank bra pocket for the iPod and another cable from the AC adapter to the iPhone also in the tank bra pocket.

Cool!

Just a couple queries to make sure there aren't problems in the future...

1) Did they tighten the 4 bolts that hold the pumpkin to the swing arm AFTER they torqued the rear axle?
2) Did they inspect/clean the pinion cup?
3) Are your new driving lights wired through a relay (and not just on the headlight circuit...that will eat your starter switch).

Wouldn't it be a good idea to install a little rubber/plastic rain flap over the two lighter/power sockets?

I realize they can be unplugged and capped in a heavy rain, but riding in intermittent rain with them in use.

I have the same power socket on my bike and it does attract water when it rains. They also hold water. I plan to drill a drain whole in them or just replace them every couple of years. They are cheap and easy to swap out. The caps do work but when I Have my phone or GPS plugged in during a downpour it does fill up. When or if I replace mine I will mount them facing a little downward so they drain.

Good idea. Maybe just mount it upside down?  Plugs won't fall out I don't think.
