I like my Ultimate, but more importantly my Better Half loves it. I really like having her on the back for my regular trip to Amarillo, Tx. Now if I could just reign in the Dragon and get better MPG. Like that's going to happen

I am thinking so.
What do you think a fair price would be?

I got a hundred core charge on the rider backrest alone. But im hanging on to it since the next owner may want it. So you can see that I would want to do something sooner than later.

I don't know.  If twas me, I'd get back to Russell and ask what they cost new, and when built, search for comparable used prices for 3-peice Russell setups, create an add with nice pics of them on your trike, listing the build date and original price.  Start by asking about $150-250 more than you're willing to take as a bottom-line, put them out on Craigslist and elsewhere, and wing it.

In my experience, you have a lot better chance of a sale asking high, and dealing down, than starting low and saying FIRM.  Even though you end up with the same price, people everywhere feel better when you deal your price down.  It's a psychological thing.

Twas me, I'd first list them here on VRCC classified only, at my rock bottom lowest acceptable price, as a favor to fellow members, and if no sale, then move to the world.

FWIW, I am thinking that the tan seats would have a better chance of selling in the hot and sunny South than the rest of the country.

I'd also ask Russell if they'd buy them, they probably won't, but no harm in asking.

Yeah, you mentioned that earlier.

I'll be more specific. How do you get the 1 1/4" movement?
Did you modify the trunk rails with a slot or new holes?
Or did you take your trunk apart and move those mounting holes?
Or both, or something else?

Just curious.

Pictures speak louder than words......sometimes ?

Wanting the trunk to be mounted with the factory bolts and not butchered ,
I looked further "up the chain" and came up with this for now. I will forge a different rear blocks as the material becomes available.

On the front of the trunk under-bracket I fabricated two 1 1/4" tabs with 3/16" steel and welded them on flush.

On the back side I extended the bracket with 1" square tube plus 1/4" steel.

Thanks very much for the pics. That helps a lot.  cooldude

Is your Gal satisfied with the extra 1 1/4"?

My wife has not complained but she does look a little squished in when I have the drivers backrest on.
I'll ask her, now that I understand I can change it up without messing with the plastic.

Thanks again.

You can move it back even more if you need.
At a bike show today I saw an adjustable trunk accessory on a Harley made by Kuryakn.
You can adjust the trunk back as much as 3".
I will check it out as a curiosity.

Checked it out and it only looks like they make it for Hawgs.
