F6F Hellcat. Mostly off carrier decks. Invaded the Gilbert Islands and Marshall Islands in '43 from the carrier deck of the USS Enterprise. 1944 found him on the USS Hornet in such real estate as New Guinea, Turk Islands, Guam, lots of islands in the Philippines. His flight log makes for some interesting places to Google. Active '41-'54 and retired in the reserve program in '65. Still a chick magnet, even if they are his grands!
