There have been a bunch of new members that are just buying a Valkyrie on here over the last week or so....

Just wanted to wish them all "HOWDY"!

Man, you are now on a bike that will add time to your trips from now on.  Everytime you stop for gas or eat lunch, somebody is going to walk up and start talking about the bike you are riding.

This is a great club and there are some great folks here.

Enjoy the ride!!!!!!!  Betcha you can't wipe the "goober grin" off your face....

An awesome bike.....and a great club.  Lots of folks here to help with anything you need and will meet you at the drop of a hat to share some wind with you.

You made a great choice on motorcycles!!!!!  NOW, ENJOY THE WIND!!!!!!!

See ya on the road I hope.

I'm also one of the "newbies".  Coming off a 2005 VTX 1800 Retro/Spoke...

Here's a pic of my old ride,

By bvanvick, shot with [URL=http://profile.imageshack.us/

No pics of the new ride (1998 Valkyrie Tourer, black).  I need to do LOTS of cleaning before I take any pics.  I think it was kind of neglected.

I'm going to miss my spoke wheels and whitewalls.  I have done some looking to see if anyone made spoke wheels for the Valkyrie, but I haven't found any yet. Sad

You've invested in an incredible bike that's sure to serve you well.  But, don't even think about failing to become a part of this organization.  The VRCC is truly one of the most outstanding things about owning a Valkyrie.  The people you'll meet, the family you'll become part of, the ever-present help in addressing bike problems that arise...Friends, you just can't beat it!!!  Hope to meet you in Frisco next week!

That grin turns serious at 100 mph.  PS: No spoke wheels on Valks please. These are business machines and we don't want any wobbles on the road.

100 plus mph heck my Magna did that what I love is the comfort and the fact that an 800 pound plus machine can do a wheelie  Evil

I'm soon to be one of the old former owners.  The Valk is a great machine, it's just that I'm not good enough to ride it anymore.

I'm another newbie.  I picked up my 2003 Std. about a month ago and I love it.  I also have a Ducati 1098 and have ridden sport bikes for years.  The Valkyrie is quite a change from my other bikes, but I've wanted one for years.  It's great to be able to bring my wife along on a ride now.

I've done some routine maintenance and need to find some accessories for the Valk.  I'd like to find some OEM Tourer saddle bags, so if anyone has some for sale or a lead on them, please let me know.

Thanks for the welcome!

I'm a Valk noob too, just got it last week. You will see a lot of questions from me! I love the bike and have wanted one for a while.  Thanks for the welcome!!

I'm still kinda ambivalent about a few things though. Nervous even, you might say. I do a lot more city driving than country riding unfortunately, so we'll see how I like it when things get stop and go. I also commute by bike even on the coldest days as long as there's no ice or snow, and I'm wondering how I'll get it started when it's 20 degrees. My last bike was fuel injected and didn't blink starting in the cold. I got stranded once at work on my last last bike which was carbureted. Finally (I think), I sure liked getting up to 50 mpg on my Vulcan 900. We'll see how my wallet likes the Valk's mpg (and no, I can't keep it under 3000 rpm - what's the point of having a motorcycle?)  Wink

Another new Valkyrie rider here.  Loving the bike and just starting into the long (and expensive) road of customizing and personalizing the big Valk.

Solo1,

You are one of the members that when I come on to this board, I look to see what you have posted.  I admire you to know when to call it good.  I am a young fella who loves to hear the stories of the older generation.  You have a lot of wisdom and many of us will hope that you stick around here and even make it to the future InZanes.  I love my bike but I enjoy the connection that we have with this board to meet some fantastic folks like yourself.

Thank you Solo for your contribution to the site and I look forward to many more posts from you.  If I am ever up in your neck of the woods I will definitely look you up.

Thanks again my friend,

New Valk Owner As well.

Thanks for the welcome.

I am sure I have a ton of questions.

Might be selling my Heal Toe Shifter and Cobra boards that came with it Sorry I cant stand them.

Shifting with the Heal Toe seems delayed and Notchy. I need to research how to bring it back to stock.
