Took a friend to the darkside Saturday and want to share a few of my experiences. With no planning we went to Discount Tire to grab a tire, to my dismay the Falken Ziex 512 is no longer available, it has been replaced with a asymmetrical 612. The choices of symmetrical tires in our size that they had in stock was zero. Zero!

Do not go to the Discount tire on Ohio in Plano and say the words darkside or motorcycle, they refused to sell us a tire because "a car tire on a motorcycle will not corner and I couldn't, in good conscious, sell you this tire". True story. So then we drove to:

Where they were good with putting a CT on a MC and happily sold us a tire, give 'em your business.
My buddy decided to go with a Kumo tire with an asymmetrical pattern 'cause that's all they had. The Firestone in Allen on East Main mounted the tire for free since they couldn't put they mounted a car tire on a MC rim on an invoice, the tire guy earned a nice tip for himself.
So far, Rudy loves being a darksider.
