She lives in Colorado Springs and knows I am headed that way.  This was her comment to me just a short bit ago.

"It is cooler.  Be sure to pack rain gear and be careful.  We have been having
thunderstorms everyday with lightning and all!  It is sooooo green.  Haven't
seen this in years!"

I live in Woodland Park, and yes, you can count on a thunderstorm in the afternoons/evenings.  They tend to build for a while, then let loose with heavy rain, lightning, winds, and sometimes hail.  The good news is they don't tend to last too long, and most of the bad stuff tends to be along I-25 and to the east.  Just be prepared.
