Not sure how soft the front forks should feel? But mine seem to have a lot of travel and feel a bit mushy? I have had other Valks in the past and dont remember the front forks feeling like this.
I guess it might be time for new fluid or better springs?

Stock springs are soft no matter how old they are it is how they were made. I would second the upgrade to the progressive springs. It is a much better ride. Not a tough job to do either.
