hi everyone , i need a front tire very soon, and going dark side with terry's tire 205/60-16 MICHELIN PRIMACY MXV4  . Question: whats a good and bigger front tire that would be a good match with the dark side? thanks all

The stock FRONT tire size is 150-80-17. Your speedo reads off the front wheel. The rest of the equation i'll leave up to you. Others more versed than I will chime in. RIDE SAFE.

Because of the speedo issue, I would try to stay near stock, but here are the possible sizes:

Front stock
150/80HR-17 120mm

130/90-17 117mm
140/80-17 112mm
140/90-17 126mm
150/70-17 105mm
150/80-17 120mm
160/70-17 112mm
The final mm number is crown height, not all sizes are available in all tire models. The closer to the stock 120mm, or a bit bigger, the better. 150/90-17 135mm would be great, but I don't know if one would fit under the fender or between the forks.
I'm on my 3rd year with the Dunlop D404 130/90-17 bias rear tire. Good in the rain, quiet, I run it at 40-43psi, got 22K miles out of the first one.

Looks mean and meaty enough.

   The 130-90-17 is USUALLY a rear tire. Some mount them in the proper rotation-like me-some mount them in reverse rotation. Being a rear tire the tread is some what deeper-hence more tread life because of the extra depth. And it seems to be a good match with my D/S rear and at 12000 miles on that Dunlop D-404-i'm liking it. And I've had no surprises in the rain or gravel or the twistys. And I've had the 404 up to what might be excessive speed-130 indicated and no surprises there either as I am on the keyboard tellin ya about it.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

I just installed a new front tire 3 weeks back ,,,maybe next time I'll look into aDunlop D 404 Wink

I use the 130/90 because it's the only size D404 rear that comes in 17". If Dunlop made a 150/80 17 I would use that.

 If you consider the diameter of the front tire on newer Goldwings and BMWs their front tire are not overly large and they have excellent cornering and  slow turning characteristics.

Just some observations 


Size of wheel is one thing, lenght of forks, angle and general geometry do also have an influence, I guess..
A more heavy wheel will have a greater gyro effect, I guess, and maybe  push steering/ contra tseering would be some different with a ligher one..
Anyway, I'd rather stick to original size or fatter if possible Wink

    150-80-17 is the front tire size on our Valkyries. RIDE SAFE.

The D206 is for the ACE Shadow, not the Valk. It is still available, it was what I put onto my ACE Tourer when I needed a new one, and I just check, and it's still available.

Wasn't it another D20x # that was used, and is now no longer available?

Doesn't really matter, since there is the E3 as a replacement.
