Was searching for some "Avon Cobra front tires" and found these two:

AV71  150/80HR 17

AV71  150/80VR 17

One is a " HR "and other a " VR " what is the difference in the two, beside the price of about $20 ?

Anybody found any good pricing lately?

Thanks

VR rating is the high speed tire, not sure of the limit, but, way faster than the Valk will go. The HR is the rating I used on mine, thinking I would never sustain speeds over 100 MPH, and the HR was rated for more than that. cooldude

Yep, the Valk came with "H" rated tires which is plenty. The ratings are for "sustained " speeds. I think V rated tires are for 149MPH. The problem with going with a higher rated tire than the bike needs is that the higher rated tires have a stiffer sidewall which will create a rougher ride.

The v tire is for a higher speed will wear out faster due to softer rubber compounds. They will be a bit sticker on the road and check out the load rating also.
