Well it is post Christmas and I received one mod' that I'm looking forward to installing; a Garmin 390LM motorcycle GPS.

In addition, I'm looking to add three "safety" modifications this winter and would be interested in any advice or feedback from fellow Valk' addicts, here goes, these are in order of priority:

1.  I would like to add some auxiliary/driving lights to the front of my Valk'.  Although I would prefer them to be mounted on each side of my main headlight, I'm open to stock engine guard mounting as well.  Please note, I have a set of Memphis Shades Lowers (model #MEP5810) mounted on my forks and I'm fearful any driving light installation may not be compatible (thus this new thread for advice),
2.  Need a louder horn, preferably one that scares the livin' sh_t out of any intrusive cager, and
3.  I would like to retrofit a new set of rear view mirros that have embedded turn signals lights both rear and front facing like these http://www.rivcoproducts.com/products/product.php?productid=558

ANY guidance, friendly advice, helpful tips on purchasing and/or installation would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

p.s.  who's going to Sturgis in 2014?

I've got air horns mounted on the crash bars on my bikes, they do the job and look cool.

Two of my bikes have these.  Pricey!

I found some on the internet that were basically the same thing with out the chrome cover and mounting hardware for around $50.00.  Mounted them with some chrome pieces I had hanging around.  Plus they used one horn up in size, so the sound is deeper.  Can't say where to find them, but if you do a search, I'm sure you will.

This mount works for my Garmin GPS and there are many other RAM Mount choices:

I went to the local pick and pull and grabbed 4 pickup truck truck horns fron late model trucks 60-70's because they are metal and can take a beating. I mounted them underneath the bike and used the chet's rattlebar instructions to wire them. I think they are pretty loud a lot louder than just the stock horn anyway.

Another options is Big BFs quad horn set which is a pretty good buy at 155.00 I think I had 70.00 into mine for horns relays wires etc.

I have exceeded what you have specified, with two pairs of spots, one is aircraft landing lights, and a modulator flashing my upgraded 130/90watt headlight.  Installed an air system which supports a two foot fire truck horn.  Loudest I have ever heard on any bike.  Didn't do the mirror mod.  Wrote tech articles on these and many other mods at http://www.horseapple.com/Valkyrie/Tech_Tips/tech_tips.html

I changed out to a Stebel horn, no match to Mark T's beauty.

I replaced my mirrors with those from a recent VTX 1800N.

I mounted my driving lights on the crash bars. Obviously there was no problem with the Memphis lowers.

(1)  I know I'm a little late to the post, but I have this light bar.....

I've since replaced the original spots with some Cobra spots (I don't think the Cobra spots are still available)....however, you can get that light bar with LED spots on it now that look like the Cobras......

http://www.bigbikeparts.com/templates/product.aspx?ProductGuid=55-312L&GroupGuid=291

I have these mounted on the upper part of the engine guards.....

As for your lowers, I also have Memphis Shades lowers.  They will work with that light bar.  It's a tight fit, but they do work.  You can't adjust them much, but they do fit and they are angled back just a bit......

(2)  As for a horn, get a Stebel.  Like Salty, I put mine in the same place.....

I also have the Stebel horn and mounted in the same place. Only draw back is when bike idling the voltage is low and the horn kinda just tweeks. Also after a few years the chrome is starting to turn/peel. But overall has been a good horn.
