When the weather is near perfect in Central Texas you've gotta ride.  And when you've gotta ride who you gonna call?   The CenTex VRCC, that's who!

Sunday, the 19th was our second meet-up and ride for 2014 which is a very good start to the new year!  (Here's a link to our 1st meet-up and ride: http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,63365.0.html  )

 cooldude

The day started in the 40's (F˚) with no clouds and very little wind…

There were various meet-up spots for everybody.  Mine and 2K1SUPERVALK's was Blanco town square.  Timing was good and soon the rest of the gang rolled in…

(Apologies go out to V-Nav who had a different meet-up spot that somehow didn't work out.  (I trust you had a good ride, anyway!)

2K1SUPERVALK led us out of Blanco towards our dining location through the beautiful Hill Country…

It is a given that the Central Texas Hill Country has some of the best riding roads anywhere with beautiful views and plenty of curves, but the Hill Country is also rich with history.  Every time I ride out this way I am never bored -- there is always something new to discover…

…soon we landed at Lindig's Cafe in Stonewall…

L-R:  2K1SUPERVALK (Damien), Me (Charlie), MR & MRS BURNOUT (Curtis & Judy), Mofo (Tommy), OLD & MRS GEEZER (Ricard & Lisa)

Food at Lindig's was good and so was the service.  Satiated, we headed over to MR and MRS BURNOUT's daughter and son in-law's cabins.  These sit right across the creek from Luckenbach on 1376.  These cabins are great!  Once they are finished I predict it will be hard to get a reservation due to high demand!

As Time will do, it snuck up on us…again!  After our goodbyes, I led the group from the Luckenbach cabins towards Blanco.  We all peeled off at different locations to enjoy the rest of our Sunday doing whatever we do away from our VRCC family.

Even though we are in the "dead of winter", the Hill Country is still a beautiful place full of wonder…

Here's something a little different…

Thank you everybody for making this another fun meet-up and ride, and thank you MR BURNOUT for being the instigator!

and I think I have my January 2014 Money Shot…

Safe winds everybody and we'll see ya down the road!

Looks like y'all had a wonderful ride. Wish I could have made it, but the ride on Saturday really wore me out (hauling a$$ on 290 @ 120mph can do that). Hopefully I will get to ride with the CenTex group in the near future. On a slightly different note, any idea when there's going to be another wrench party? I could sure use some help with the rear end service on my Valk.

Looks like y'all had a great ride. I did peek at the Blanco Town Square when I passed thru on my way to 46/281, but no one was there then. Too bad I wasn't running late. After getting the chill out of my bones at Starbucks I ran back up to the Chess Club in Blanco and had a bite or three. Then headed off on CR 165 towards Henly but veered east to Wimberly, and then on home on TX 12 north. Turned out to be a nice day for a ride.  See ya next time.

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.
