You know, I was diggin thru pics tonight thinking of vacations, weekend bike trips etc...  I remember emailing this picture from I-10 in south texas to my buddies in North Carolina where I lived for several years... just to get at them.. but of course then I think how many times I might have driven faster than that on I 95 heading to DC from Raleigh for a meeting over the years...hmm   angel,

but it rains there and the grass is green   2funny

Yep, checked out your photos before I read your caption.
Thought "That looks like I10 west of San Antonio,"
Straight, flat, the road just disappears into the horizon.
Had to be careful around Van Horn, always a speed trap there.
Drove that way many a time between Fort Bliss and Central Texas back when the speed limit was 55.
Nice to be in Colorado now, where there are seasons, instead of "not quite as hot" winter.
First year out of the service, in the mid 1980's, I spent Christmas camping out at Pale Face park on lake Travis, 80 degs. during the day.

I ran my IronButt 1500/24hrs down that stretch Leaving Kerrville at 11 in the morning and ran the 80mph to ElPaso then the interstate in NM and AZ is 75 during the daya nd night.  Rode from Kerrville, Tx to El Paso....across NM and into Benson AZ......got sighning witnesses, turned around and came back across NM to Kerrville, tx....1538 miles in 23 hrs 10 minutes.  Great Place to run that IronButt ride....just don't do it during the middle of the summer....you'll cook....did mine in March.
