Clifton was a fine, fine man and I was privileged to know him.

Clifton was active in the SCA and sent this along at one point...

Daniel - At our annual war in Mississippi, this was the entrance to the Handicapped camping area. The Latin text reads, yes, "It Is Only a Flesh Wound". HAHA!

Very sad to hear that.

I remember when our Valkyrie community raised the funds to get Cliff his Silverwing. Good guy and a good bunch of people here.

I was there when Strider, willow and a bunch of other guys that I can't remember rolled in the scooter. He couldn't believe it. It was a GREAT night for him and the VRCC group. He showed up for many of our rides and enjoyed being with the group almost as much as we enjoyed being with him.   Our loss is Heavens gain.

One of the things I miss most about the annual Cheaha gatherings is the time spent with Clifton.  It is an honor to have known him.

RIP Clifton.  He was a great man.  Never forgot the first time I met him in Panama City at the annual Florida gathering when he rode up on the scooter that he had before the one he got at Cheaha.

I was proud to have had a small part in the relay by picking up the scooter from Don & Tracy in Tennessee, taking it to my shop in Ga. for an extensive wash and detail to remove all that salt from the long trip south, and delivering it to Tim and the gang at Cheaha. My son Jake (15 yr. old teenager) helped a lot and was there for the presentation. He has fond memories of that weekend and rode his own Valkyrie to Cheaha the next year. We spent a lot of time with Clifton's brother and really enjoyed the trip. I ran into Clifton sometime later at a gas station while I was traveling on business and got to talk with him a while...He was a good one. RIP Scootertrash!

Sad news.  He was a really, really nice guy and tough as nails.  He didn't let life get him down, at least not that we could see.

That's the thing about life... none of us get out of it alive.

I never met him... but I did help the cause...

I hope he's where he wants to be now...

Fair weather Clifton.

From Conrad Crews on Facebook:

As per Clifton's request, I have organized a wake to remember his life.

This will happen on Saturday May 10 at Das Haus in Birmingham starting around 5pm and going till we can't take it anymore.

We will have an open bar till the money runs out and a cash bar after that. There will also be food available from the Das Haus kitchens.

No dress code, come as you are and please bring your good memories and funny stories.

Play blues guitar? Bring it.

Ride a motorcycle or scooter? Ride it.

Directions attached.
