Here I've removed all the circuits but one...really...all but one...and every light and plug in the house still works.

You can see the new service riser to the left..

Glad your making such great headway.  Sounds like some of the wiring in my house.  The A/C man neary had a heart attack when he saw how the old system was wired into the circuit box (direct no circuit breaker).
