Is there a place that shows an illustration of the needles for a Valkyrie?

I haven't and I'd like to find/see on also. I've also wanted to measure and compare a '97 with a later one.

cobra, dyna and viking needles are the same and all three are richer than FactoryPro needles which are richer than the OEM. OEM are not adjustable all others are. per FP dyno testing the front 2 carbs needles should be slightly richer than the others. one extra washer does the trick, there is a noticable difference esp if back to back road testing is done.
I have all of them except the cobras, but they are made by dyna. I use the FPs and oem slide springs with viking pipes. might try the I/S springs I have, didn't like them with the oem pipes with glass packs.

they do have different tapers...I've seen pictures comparing them side by side, but I'll have to look around to see if I can find them again.

The first one on the left appears to be the OEM (no notches and no "e" clip) and the one next to it matches my Factory Pro needles...that's a start.

I'd like to see a comparison by name as well, and what different riders have done in the name of performance. Guess I'm never done tinkering!

agreed. the next one is a dyna needle which is exactly like the viking needles I have, in addition the viking needle instruction sheet is exactly like the dyna sheet except for vikings logo at the top and the word viking on certain lines and the contact line at bottom of page. do not know what the last to the right is. somebody posted before that the first run of viking pipes had different needles than the later runs.

Mase; Big Mac Dave, the fearless leader of our VRCC SoCal Chapter is doing tons of work on my Valk, including pulling the carbs; installing an I/S tank; installing a set of COBRA 6 into 6's and LOTS more. Yesterday I trailered her 67 miles one way to Dave's house. He said it'll be done and ready to go by Sunday. It'll be my first ride since my 28 December axident! SAY NO TO FREAKIN' CAGES!
