A BIG thank you to Hotglue and Flamigobabe for putting on another GOTF.  cooldude cooldude I had a great time seeing everybody. Grin

Go back at about 12:15 to the house. Early enough to see my youngest off to college. The plan was to leave early enough, most likely would have less rain earlier in the day. The less rain part didn't work so well for me. It rained the last 200 miles and the temp dropped to 46 by the time I got home. Luckily I missed some hail. West of Waco had 3-6" of hail piled up on the side of the road.  Shocked

That Hail woulda stung a bit. Shocked I know from having been stuck in it just before a T-nado struck tickedoff

Vita and I made it home safe and sound. Didn't beat the rain, and it wasn't too bad until we made it to about New Waverly. When we were almost home here in Hooterville, it really started pouring, and then a few miles from home, it started to hail. It was about the size of large marbles, and it sure did sting. Still have a few whelps on my face where it got me. Anyway, many thanks to Mark and Charlene for putting on such a great event. We had a great time, and met some really great folks.

Serk and company home... It'll take a few days for me to dry out and warm up though!

300 miles on the bike, most of it in the rain, with the temp in the mid 40's, and me having a lot less insulation than I used to have, with my bike gear being WAY too big now (I.E. Air has more spaces to sneak in and puff it up) makes for a VERY cold ride... But still worth it!!!

Thanks again to Mark, Charlyne, and all the other anonymous elves who work so tirelessly behind the scenes to pull this off every year!

Wabbit and River checking in.  Made it home about an hour before sunset after grabbing an incredible lunch at a Los Cucos in Katy.

Great time had by all in our party, including the GOTF "virgins".  Truth be told, this was the first I attended through to completion.  Made an attempt two years ago, but had to leave Saturday morning due to illness, just as the Laser Pat Memorial Ride was getting underway.

Managed to avoid rain all weekend until the return trip.  Glad we missed out on the hail that some of you reported, because the wind and rain was bad enough even with rain gear.  Bone-chilling cold.  Hot shower never felt so good.  A couple of young-uns were departing GOTF at the crack of dawn this morning on their way to N'awlins.  If you haven't already (when I wasn't paying attention), kindly check-in and let us know you made it home without incident.

Made it to San Antonio in the afternoon after fun in the rain and the temp drop.  Stayed overnight with my wife, who will be in town for a convention all week.  Heading out now to get back to Arlington before it rains again.

Thanks to Hotglue and Flamingo Babe for another incredible time at the GOTF.  It has become a family affair for us as now my wife, my
son and my daughter-in-law all attended.  I hope some of you got to meet them.  Andy was there most of the time, helping where he could.

Looking forward to the next one.

Guess it was about 5:30ish.
It was raining all the way back up to DFW for the most part on 45. Took an extended amount of time with the reported 15 or so mile back up between Buffalo and Centerville.
But ya know...it was worth the effort for the LLarge time Krys and I had.
WE will be back next except Krys will have a new name.................

YIKES!!!!!!!!

cooldude  cooldude A huge Thank You to Mr. and Mrs. Baker for the generous hospitality and support of the Texas Lions camp. Wow....That's BBQ Texas style! Had a fantastic time! Meeting new people, matching faces with names, kickin' the tires. It's hard to put in too few words the gratitude our hosts provided, simply put, Y'all good people!
Also thanks to Wizard and his riding crew for leading our Galveston tour.
Had a great traveling partner with Valkuna (Pete); I lead out and he lead back and don't think we missed a single turn. Got back to Tampa town Monday about 3:30 pm.
Thanks again to Hotglue and Flamingo Babe for everything!

In the house as of 12:30pm Monday after riding in from my overnight in San Antonio.  Almost 800 miles for the full trip, which was a good test to see if I was fit to ride to Inzane later this year.  My repaired back seems to be up to the challenge.

With all the rain, glad I had the new rear tire.  I seem to have lived up to my handle on Sunday and Monday!

On Sunday when I went to pick up my bike after having lunch with my bride, the Baker place was almost back to "normal".  And working right alongside Mark was Jimmy (Hayhauler) loading up a trailer behind the mancave.  He was there helping before the event and there afterwards helping to clean up.  While I can't thank Flamingo Babe and Hotglue enough, I also need to make a big shoutout to Hay for his tireless efforts in helping with the GOTF event.  I'm sure there were others I didn't see, but Jimmy was always there.  He has inspired me to plan on sticking around longer next year to try and help with the cleanup.

Again, big thanks to all for the greatness this event is and what you do to help the Lions Club with your efforts.

I arrived home Sunday around 3 PM. Rained so hard on the way home I could barely see. Around these parts they call that a toad strangler. Anyways, I want to thank hotglue and flamingobabe for putting on such a great event. I hope to make it next year if work permits. Thanks again.    cooldude

If I am still on top of the grass next year, I'll be to the GOTF's and having my son and his bride travel with me.

We went to Colorado 2 years ago, and I'd forgot about how we did it.

Already have the reservation in for the concentrator and some extra tanks.

We went to Galveston for breakfast the across the ferry and up the bolivar peninsula. Shortly after that it turned cold and rained the rest of the way back to Fort Worth. While sitting in a subway sandwich shop near Palistine trying to thaw out my wet frozen hands I noticed the girl making sandwiches with disposable plastic gloves. I beged her for a pair and put them on before my wet gloves. It made all the difference in the world. I am going to carry them with me from now on.
Thanks hotglue for letting us tent in your back yard!
