Booked a room at the Fredricksburg Hill Country (Howard Johnson) on Priceline for $85 a night.  Use Express Deals to get the price.  I've stayed at this place before and it was pretty good, on the west end of town.

I talked to my son-in-law that has the six cabins across the creek from Luckenbach this is the web site for them www.fredericksburg-lodging.com/Luckenbach-lodge2 he said he would block them for a couple of weeks & let us have them for $100 a night, reg. price $129 if we book all six. each cabin has a king bed, very nice showers. The cabins are rustic on the outside but very nice on the inside they are about a year old & you can walk to Luckenbach. I don't like the pics on the outside because they were taken in the winter. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Gonna stay at the Luckenbach Lodge cabins across South Grape Creek from Luckenbach along with Mr. Burnout and 2K1Supervalk.

Here's the Link:  http://www.fredericksburg-lodging.com/Luckenbach-lodge2/

Send Mr. Burnout (Curtis) a personal message if you'd like the VRCC rate, there's still a few cabins left.

We visited the cabins earlier this year just before they were completed and they were really nice!

(The cabins are behind the Valkyries)

I have another commitment that weekend ... and it  is not football ths time.  I'll be in Frisco, TX with a couple of the dogs, testing.  The German Shepherd should have no trouble, but the Dalmatian needs ME to be better at my job than I was last time.

Y'all have fun!

Regrettably, Miss Lana and I must cancel this trip.  I had a King suite reserved @ $139 per night.  It's open now.  Also, just spoke with the Peachtree who tell me they have blocked 4 (now) rooms for the VRCC and are waiting for the reservations to fill these rooms.  There is a reunion the same weekend and they desperately want the rooms Peachtree has reserved for VRCC.  So. if you're going and want to stay at the PT better make the call.

Blessings,

Woody

Does anybody have any suggestions for camp grounds in this area? Also what is the plan for the ride? Has it already been mapped out? I'm new to the forum and just bought my second Valkyrie and looking to start riding a lot more this go around.

It's pretty early for any rides to be "planned".  There are usually 2 groups of riders, one spirited and one more interested in the scenery on Saturday morning.  Both rides will end up in Luckenbach at the classic car/motorcycle show.  Those who go a day earlier will plan rides out to the Bat Cave and other spots in the area.

Just keep your eye on the forum for more posts.

The best part of the Ride-In is the gathering and tire-kicking with all the other Valkyrie riders.  It's always good to get together with old friends and to make new ones.

Hey y'all, I'm also looking forward to getting together for some scenic riding and otherwise gatherin. I believe we're gonna ride there early in the morning before too many folks get on 281. Any idea what time the slower scenic riding crowd usually take off so we know if we can pull this off? We've always been on the fringe of the Valkyrie crowd cuz the West is SO stinking large to bump into many of us. So, we're hoping to get to know some of you all better and to meet many more. Thanks.

I am going to tell my son-in-law to unblock the cabins in Luckenbach for Oct. 17 & 18 because he has been getting a lot of calls for that weekend and I don't want him  to lose out on getting them rented. There are 2 left, if anyone is interested in one. I will wait until sun to tell him. if interested call me "Curtis" at 210-478 8476.

So now that we've booked a room, what's the plan? I remember the year we were at YO, there was registration and a packet with a schedule and all sorts of details.  Who is handling all that this time?  We are planning to arrive on Thursday.  Who else is coming early?

I have been thinking about this plan a little bit recently.  We are pretty far from a solid plan, but the ride groups usually leave around 9 AM Saturday morning.  Remaining time is reserved for hitting the Harvest Classic, or meals, or tire kicking in the parking lot.

Looks like I'll be able to spend some time in Fredericksburg this weekend.

It's probably too late to reserve a room but I live only 40 miles away in Boerne.

This time I'll ride one of my Valkyries up instead of that Gold Wing.

Looking forward to visiting with you all.  Smiley
