I went to Maxim today and test rode a 2014 Valk. Man! it rides nice! very well balanced and turns easy, and when you twist on the throttle it pulls hard! I found it interesting even though there is no windshield on it, I didn't notice any wind pressure against my chest, like when I'm on my VTX without the shield. I did feel a bit on my helmet, but that's to be expected with no shield. Also on my 2002 standard I can't put my feet flat on the ground when I'm sitting, my heals are usually about an inch off the ground. But on the new Valk I'm comfortably sitting with my feet flat on the ground.

I like it! So, I think I'm selling my 2002 standard and my son-in-law is buying my VTX. So, you guys know my bike, what do you think it's worth? if anyone here is interested in it I"ll give you first bid. It has 33k on it now.

Can't offer anything on the worth of your current bike, but we have a request:  if/when you buy a new Valk, kindly keep us updated on your impressions and riding experiences on it.  Inquiring minds want to know...

We trudge on.

An 02 standard valk with 33K would all depend on what someone would be willing to pay for it.  Best guess would be 5-6K top end.  Ask 6500 and go down from there.  It would make a good downpayment on a new goldwing derived engine whether goldwing, f6b, or new valk.  I'd wait awhile longer though to see what kind of accessories the new valk comes out with in a few months.

My money would be on a new f6b with passenger backrest and taller windshield even over a new goldwing.

Whatever you do sell it outright you'll get easily another 1-2 grand more for it vs. trading it in at a stealer.

What was Maxim's asking price?  I'm not in the market, but was impressed by Cycle Center of Denton's price.

You go first.

Maxim had a $17,995 sticker on the Black one I was looking at  Smiley

Thanks Tom, I wasn't looking at asking price, I assumed it was MSRP & I was not buying, just trying.  coolsmiley  I guess I was right.

So Dave, what's Cycle Center of Denton' asking price.?

When I was there on Saturday 26 April, the p-touch stickers on the headlights had a series of numbers followed by a space and then 1417999.

I asked if I had cracked the pricing code and was told, "If you ignore the first series of numbers, yes."  I asked if the ABS model was about a grand more, and he again said, "Yes."

So, unless they've changed the price since then, they are asking $14,179.99 for non-ABS.   coolsmiley

I "think" the P-Touch code has the year built into the code. 1417999 = 2014 $17999
Seemed to track when I was looking at new and previous year wings.

I was in Honda of Houston on hyway 290 at Eldrige yesterday buying my Valk some oil and filter.   They have about 15 of the new Valks in stock.   All colors.   Bright yellow, Black Reddish Marroon.....and I think some more colors but defineately those colors.  Don't know what they are asking but I think I'll just keep my paid for Valk....she's a sweetheart.

by the way they have a Valk Tourer in the used bikes with I think 17,000 miles.....very clean.
