One thing I'd advise is keep in mind the price of the OEM brackets. IMHO you'd be best served to retain the stock saddlebag brackets, but keep in mind they are expensive. I think I paid as much for a set of mounting hardware as I did for the bags.

I'd watch E-Bay buy one here and another one there and paint to match. The mounting stay will get in your pocket also. IMO nothing looks as good as Hondaline on a Valk. I had Corbin Bettlebags on this one but took them off ...Just did'nt like them  Undecided

Champion patriot bags are better than OEM hard bags in many ways. http://www.dauntlessmotors.com/Mountinghardware/hard%20bags.htm#Patriot_Sport_Hard_Bags

Call Corbin Mac you might just shame them into makin' a set for you. They made me a lid and claimed they still had the Valkyrie mold that was in 2007. Picture is my bags after Duffy's crash the missing lid was never found I had enough money in these to fund a small war after I had them repaired.I sold mine for $450.00 and had a hellofa lot more in them but as stated above I just did'nt care for the looks...To each his own  cooldude

From this

To this...All it takes is $$$

I recently posted a set of Corbin Beetles on the board, they were in Denver. Another VRCC brother snatched em on the way to IZ for $900 I think.
I will keep my eyes peeled for another set, I have software running that searches Craigslist nationwide for Valk ads.

I looked at directline parts and it looks like about $650 for the honda bags and brackets. That is the only place I found them  Sad

Will the Honda bag rails fit/work with the Champion Patriot bags?

Also, do the Champion Patriot bags use their own mounting system/hardware....or, do you need the Honda mounts?

Champion bags require the Champion hardware.

Here's a pic of my 98 Standard with the Champion bags.

They match the paint perfectly. The insides are lined.

I'd check out Willie and Max.

I have the mechanics bags and love them.  Had them on 2 bikes, a total of 10 years now!  Still look great!  I even studded them myself for a new look.  They are made of a thick synthetic material that has a leather grain in them.  I did replace the inards (they have a plastic piece inside that makes them hold their shape.  W&M sent them to me for no charge 5 years later.  They actually sent me 2 sets and heven't had a need to use the second set yet.  The bike has seen the hot sun and wicked Tenessee rains and still took new with a little armorall!

A great product in my opinion!

Thanks SteveL.  Those look great.

Does anyone know if the Honda bag rails will work/fit with the Champion Patriot bags?

I tried for these, but someone beat me to them.  They sure didn't last long.  Anyone else know where I can get a set of stock Honda bags and mounts?

I can hook you up with the motorcycle salvage yard down the road.  He's not cheap.  His price is pretty much the going rate.

Send me a message.

I talked to Pinwalls today.  They had no idea what I was talking about on the "new" bags.  They gave me an e-bay link to some rashed ones.  Can you PM me with a name of who I should talk to up there?

As far as i know all they have are take offs from wrecks. No new bags. Just a great place to get all kinds of Valkyrie parts.

You can have a set built for you. Rocky's seats and saddlebags out of Fresno Ca builds bags for the valk. My was the first valk he did bags for. First rate job, $1300.00 a set. Best investment i have made.

559-456-3760 ask for Rocky

Probably didn't last 30 minutes. I bought a Cobra light bar off the classified a moth or so ago and the guy laughed when I called. He said, Ijust finished typing the ad 5 minutes ago.

I sent an email as soon as I saw the add, been checking adds several times throughout the day. Got an email back last night saying they were sold. Also missed out on both deals that Ghille posted. To get the good deals you would have to guit your job and search the web constantly or be real lucky.
