A big invite goes out to our Florida VRCC friends who will be attending InZane, to join us on a ride and lunch at our biker cottage outside of Waynesville (thanks, Sheffers, for the use of that term). We intend to take you north of Asheville to the town of Hot Springs, and from there ride "The Rattler" through some twisty mountain backroads and picturesque farm country. It may not have the same number of curves as the Dragon (318), but the Rattler doesn't have the traffic or crazy squids either.

click to read more about The Rattler:  http://www.blueridgemotorcycling.com/ride-maps/the-rattler-nc-209

You'll then enjoy a tasty lunch at the cottage (barbecue pork for sure, with other meat/veggie items to be determined).  After some valk talk and relaxin, you'll complete your ride back to the starting point using another back road that takes you through some more turns and pastoral scenes. Since all rides in FL begin at the Hess Station, we'll not break with tradition:

Meetup:   Hess-Wilco Station, 158 Smoky Park Hwy., Asheville 28806
When:     9:00 am, Monday, June 9

We estimate the entire ride and lunch to take under 5 hrs. (depending on how much tire kickin goes on) so that should get you back in time for Inzane's opening ceremonies at 4:30 pm. So please let us know if you would like to join us. You won't go away hungry or bored!

Count me in

Sound like a great time, hanging out with fellow Floridians and riding the twisties.
Let us know if we can do anything to help with the lunch thing.

Thanks  cooldude

We won't need this much leather in June, of course, but hope to get a group pic in front of the sign, too.

On second thought ... if anyone's not feeling confident about the twisties, wear the leather.  Wink

As long as everybody doesn't ride like they're going to a fire....I'm in. It's not the twisties, it's the fact that it is beautiful country and I want to take it all in as I cruise through it. And just so you won't have to pick on me re. age(you will anyway  Roll Eyes), understand....I've been that way my entire life whether in a car, flying a plane, or riding a bike.  cooldude

cooldude cooldude Count me in! Looking forward to enjoying the sites with everyone! Thanks to Pennie and Todd for hosting this event at their Valkyrie cottage! The Rattler is a really fun route and can be as tame or aggressive as one chooses. As for the leathers, I pretty much wear them at all times riding in the hills, as conditions change fast up there.

Hopefully I will be able to join the group to see some of my Florida friends.  Being my first Inzane not sure what to expect.
I will be riding down with a group of 8 bikes from Ohio.
