Who has and uses them?

My "new to me Valk" came with one, but I have no idea how to use it. The antenna on the back looks cool, I guess...

I have a J&M, only use it when I ride with friends on their Harley.  Then we pick a low number channel just for us.

I have a Hondaline CB that is easy enough to use but no one I ride with has one. I seldom wear a helmet so I don't have access to the mike or earphones anyway.

Ya want to listen to trucker's channel? That be 19.

Turn it on, hopefully you have headsets in your helmet.
Select a channel, turn the squelch button up and then back it off till the static goes away,
Turn your volume up to what your are comfortable with.

Ya want to talk on it in a group ride?

Most of them run channel 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.
If on a long cruise like to Sturgis, some prefer 19 for smokies and road reports.
When you want to respond to something in the group, push the PTT (push to talk) button on the left handlebar, holding it down, say what ya want to say and release it.

That is about all there is too it.

Hey Mike I have Honda CBs on both my Valks. Not many around here have them but are great on group VRCC rides like CBR. PM me and I can send you the Honda CB  instruction and install manual on disc.
