I so wish I coulda been there to see that... Honestly, this reunion was the #1 reason I was trying so hard to make it to Inzane this year...

Great that T-man put them back together.  I agree on the cleanliness of the bike.  I bet that as much as Bruce missed ALI there will be a little more soap and water in the future.  Not that he didn't take care of the bike now mind you.  I remember him telling about buying turkey basting pans to change oil in the motel parking lot and then taking the old oil back to the parts house for disposal. Could we get a very brief rundown on what exactly failed and had to be replaced on that historic Valkyrie? I know there were probably many replacement parts getting her in top shape, but just like to know what actually failed to take her off the road, just so we don't have to go thru all the threads, thanks in advance and CONGRATULATIONS!

That would be an incorrect assumption.  Our understanding is that a pinion gear (and drive shaft failure) was what needed to be replaced to et her back on the road.  Terry did a lot of work cleaning the bike up and doing a little add on here and there.

There have been several final drives and U-joints over her 443,000 miles.  Speedo replaced.  Maintenance items such as bearings.  No engine work.  No transmission work.

Yes, the drive shaft to pinion cup joint failed. The local dealer supplied those parts free. Ultimate Seats sent a new seat cover, gratis, that Terry took to a local upholsterer to replace the well worn cover.

That was a wonderful and thoughtful ceremony, and symbolizes just how close knit the Valkyrie world really is.  Glad I was able to see that.

That's what I meant, I know things were probably done and replaced besides the replacement of failed parts. Looks like it has new seats, etc. As I understood when first learned of the high mile Valkyrie the engine was diagnosed by dealer to have failed, then maybe transmission? If it was "just" drive train stuff that is encouraging.

Here are some PICS from Ali's Return:

T-man speaks to the group about how he came to meet DDT and Ali.

DDT gets his turn to speak.

DDT tells the group about his life with and without Ali.

DDT finally gets to look over his old friend.

DDT thanks a new friend for reuniting him with Ali.

Back in the saddle again.

Happy to have her back.

This was a great reunion and I'm glad that I was fortunate enough to be there to witness it.

I got to witness the reunion of Bruce and Ali, the speeches etc. I also got to talk to Terry for a while the day after the event. He's really a genuine person who's interesting to talk to.

I hope your kindness and good deeds are returned to you 100 fold, Terry.
