Ok another ques.  Any ideas on replacement windshield on the Tourer. It has the stock and stock brackets. BUT is cut off at 18" from top of headlight. With the stock seat I need about 20" Ques. Does the Mustang seat set lower in the saddle than stock? I hate to pay over 300. to replace stock windshield so can use the Tourer chrome emblem and brackets. When maybe could put that toward a Mustang seat.  Or maybe cheaper replacements shield ?

I'd keep the OEM brackets, they cost over $1000 to replace now, and Clearview
probably has a shield the size you want that will fit the OEM brackets.

The OEM windshield is 21.37" high from the top of the headlight.  I have the Mustang seat and I do not believe it sits lower than the OEM seat, but don't know for sure.  I am 5'-11" and the combination is exactly right for me.  My line of sight, sitting up straight, is about two inches above the windshield.
There are aftermarket shields available that use the OEM frame work.  Look up Clearview, that will be my next choice.

I seem to recall that the Mustang seat either sits you higher by one inch, or farther back by one inch.  I think it's higher.  Clearview makes a replacement windshield that uses your OEM hardware.

My recollection from reading is that the Mustang is about the same height as OE seats (though it may put you a bit forward or rearward of OE).

Of course, a 10-15yo OE seat may not sit as high as it used to.  I replaced my great looking but totally shot Ultimate Bigboy recently, and it is very noticeably taller than the beater it replaced (at least one inch, maybe 1.5).

Really, you should get any upgrade seat you want, before you decide to measure for a replacement shield for your OE brackets.  Clearview will make you any length shield you want, once you have decided what it is.
