I love science but I don't love the rules and regulations that come about as the mass hysteria predicted has not come about, as a example global warming, "now failed". Even science has not had a real run of success in the area of global warming and scientists are back tracking on the cataclysmic catastrophes that were predicted. But the effects of the laws put into place have a real dollar value to the average person. The God particle and what it was supposed to be the answer to how the universe was created, only to find that if what they found is true it could actually destroy the universe. We desperately need science in all that it does for our society but why cant we seem to put it in its place as one important piece of the life puzzle that does not have all the answers. Many will say science has become as much a religion as any other since the adherents are awestruck and not open to other interpretation. But I just don't want my life impacted financially by a unknown prediction put forth by some man that may or may not have relevance or truth. Ethanol is a prime example of someones good idea on how to clean the environment. Now we pay for something that has no benefit and actually hurts quite a few. I am tired of the hysteria, the we know till we don't, the lies, the laws implemented without knowledge. I am finding that the truth is rarer than gold or diamonds in the world of science and man and most of what passes for good laws and science is just one mans ideas being shoved forward like a monarch. This also goes for anyone in government which along with the rare issue is integrity. That in government is rarer than unobtainium which is truly sad.  Thanks for reading my rant its just something that was bothering me.

The sky is falling or so said chicken little. My Dad said a long time ago if air pollution was worth $25.00 a pound it would be gone yesterday. Most things I've read implied the global warming and cooling cyclical. But we get stuck with a lot of "findings" cause the folks doing the "finding" KNOW which ears to whisper into. RIDE SAFE.

You certainly don't think these dumbass politicians would ever admit to making a mistake by jumping the gun and rescind or change some of their stupid laws. Let alone anyone think that the EPA would relinquish any portion of its power and relax some of its ridiculous regulations.
Heck, since there is now so much methane in a cow fart, and, since, Kangaroo farts don't have any such substance that we're now spending tax dollars to study the Kangaroos and implement that to our cows. Well, maybe thats money better spent than some ways we're spending it.
At least our politicos have to be politically correct. Since global warming hasn't happened yet, they had to change the name to climate change. At least that covers them no matter what happens.

And just what would their 'interests' be ?

Co2 is such a small component of green house gases it does not hardly have an effect. Water vapor is the largest greenhouse component by volume and effect. That is something there models do not use. They stack the deck against real science. The scientist who started the weather channel has been trying to debunk the climate czars for years. There phoney science can be shot to pieces by any logical look at weather data. For one thing they have adjusted old temp. Down from actual reading using some questionable reasoning that makes no since. Then they exaggerated the increase on recent readings.

AND, there have been periods in Earth's history where the CO2 levels were much higher as well as the temps, no humans were around then.

is there climate change? yes, can it directly be linked to humans, not so much....

There isn't anything wrong with trying to improve the air quality. Sometimes passing laws is a knee jerk reaction to a real problem, that can cause bigger problems than the problem the law was passed for. The real problem is industry greed. If big business would spend a little time on the problems of pollution, many of the other issues would go away on their own. Nature has a way of cleaning up, and of making a mess that we cannot control. Let one big volcano pop, and the world temps go down.  cooldude

So just keep on letting an out of control administration and environmental agency keep adding ridiculous regulations on American business all the while the remainder of this earth's countries could care less.
Our air and water has been cleaned considerably since the 60/70s, but there becomes a system of diminishing returns.

The "Scientist" who claim the earth is getting warmer due to man's use of fossil fuels  for the most part are not following scientific methods in determining what they say.   They are using computer models that were designed to prove CO2 was causing warming.  Using guesses on how  climate works that are clearly are wrong.  We have had some 16-18 years (depending on who you listen to) that there has not been any global warming.   These Models can't project this halt in warming.   Instead of going back the drawing board with the models and their ideas to determine why the models don't work, some are looking in various place for the heat to be hiding.

Not all scientist whether or not they are climate folks are following  the climate alarmist.   They are looking at the facts and trying to figure out what is going on with the climate.   The media is not listening to them and not getting out their messages.  Of course could say the media is kind of control by folks involved in trying to bring about economic change in the world but that could get one looked at by those folks.

Remember, CO2 is a building block for trees/shrubs/grasses.   The contribution that man has made to the total CO2, is small but does help in some small way to the additional growth.

Weather history is interesting, like Britmans link.
Remember the recent little ice age ? Most have never heard of it. Prior to the 14th century the average temp was 8ºF warmer than today. In the early 14th century the temp dropped an average of 12ºF is less than 20 years. The real smart guys have said we have just recently come out of it.
Ever see the painting of Washington crossing the Delaware. That was in late December and apparently was true. Winters were much colder then. In this area of the northeast the winters of 1815/1816 were called the years without summer. Thousands died. Its claimed it snowed every month except July and the snow cover didn't completely go until August and returned in Sept.
No one yet knows why the temp dropped as quickly as it did, but, its believed that weather changes far more quickly than once thought.
Considering the weather of the past 1/2 million years and that the sun is playing the back nine, burning itself up causing the recent increase in solar flare activity, and, that the earths solar filter [ magnetic field] has decreased about 30% over the past few hundred years [ the field reverses about every 1/2-3/4 million years and is over due] its no wonder that more of these 'bad rays' are reaching us.  Yet, the greenies would continue to try and convince you thats its all our fault.
Like they say, follow the money. Look at the BILLIONS that al gore has made from this scam.
I usually go Caribou hunting after season in the Great White North and have not seen any of what is being claimed about the decrease in bears, caribou or ice pack. I don't get that far north, but, as far as we do get, there is no decrease. If anything, its the opposite.
The groups that recover WWII aircraft from the polar ice pack have to pull these planes out 200-300ft of ice. What a task.
When Cortez made his rampage through southern California in the 16th century, the natives called the LA basin the Valley of Smoke. I can't imagine that there were too many smoke stacks or dirty old automobiles running around back then.
Heck, there was even a recent documentary on PBS [where else] stating the Dust Bowl and Black Blizzards of the 1930s was/were man caused. What did man have to do with the rain just shutting off and then turning back on just as quickly 9 years later. Mans farming practices of the time didn't help and contributed, but, cause it, I don't think so.
OK, I'm off my soap box now. Sorry for being so long winded. This just gets me wound up.

They been watching me for years, have to keep a constant look out. They're everywhere. The tin foil inside my helmet helps though, reflects all the bad rays right back at them.  Smiley
