As much as I'd like a table lift, space is a preimum in my tight little one car garage.  This lift looks interesting and more important to me, space saving.....so I'm looking for opinions on this bike lift.

What say ya'll?

http://lifts-and-stands.com/

http://lifts-and-stands.com/product/honda-valkyrie-mounts-for-the-big-blue-bike-lift-and-eazy-rizer-red/

It looks like you can get it with the Valkyrie adapter shipped from Atlanta for about $820.00.

Found these pics from another VRCC member on the forum.....

There was a thread on this not long ago. As I recall, the general consensus went something like...
"I'd wouldn't trust gettin my Fat Lady up on that thin'..."

That's why I'm asking for opinions....from people that own one...or don't.  Good, bad or indifferent.

As long as it's at least as stable or better than my Craftsman lift (which isn't all that great), I think it might work for me.

Other than the space saving aspect, I also like that there's no hydraulics....no  bottle jack to leak down.

Here's a video lifting a Goldwing....

Pretty nice, and no hydraulics to leak down is a big plus.  You could make up for the table lift counter space by having a rolling table/tray to put gear/parts/tools.

I wish he had wiggled/rocked the bike to demonstrate stability.  After mostly using jack stands with a regular jack, it still makes me feel like I'd need to tie it to the ceiling or something as a backup.  I guess if the bike, adapter and jack are all bolted, it's a rock.

Spendy!!

Here is my take;
I am afraid of heights and I am clumsy. With my luck both the lift and the bike will fall on my toes. Cry
However, once I get over these fears and anxieties, I'll buy one. I'll test it by leaving her on the highest position overnight. ???
In the morning. after the earthquake I'd lift her again and strip down whatever is left for sale! tickedoff
Shippin' will have to wait, tho! tickedoff 2funny 2funny 2funny

Well Paxton, that we have in common.   Wink

That's why I'm not a real big fan of my Craftman lift.  It does the job, but it's jerky and not all that terribly stable.  With that Big Blue lift, there's no hydraulics to bleed down, you can adjust the height in very fine increments (unlike the Craftman...or any other floor jack), and I'm looking at it to be a better alternative to raise and lower the bike during final drive maint., plus the space saving aspects.

If I eventually buy one of these lifts, and although it will raise the bike that high, I'd have zero plans to lift it up to those lofty heights.  Just enough to remove the rear tire for rear-end service.

I've been researching lifts of every type for a very long time.  I'd love a table lift, but with space restrictions, it's just not feasible for me.  This lift looks like it will work very well for me.

If I do eventually buy one, I'll be more than happy to post back how well (or not) it works.

Hey BF, that's my pics on your original post. Cool

I really do love this stand and have no regrets at all in buying it. Wish I'd bought it earlier. For those worried about the bike falling off, it can't. It is bolted to one of the beams that lifts the bike with the special adapter especially for the Valkyrie.

When I bought mine I haggled and got the Valk adapter thrown in for free.

I've done many jobs on the bike using this stand and have never felt it was going to topple over.

Only downside is that once your mates know you've got one they will be round to use it when they need to get a wheel of for tyres and stuff.... Grin Not really a downside, usually ends up witha BBQ and beers...

I have lifted all kinds of bikes with no problems.

Ain't no way in hell I'd of put MGM on that when he was a 2 wheeler.

I have a wide wheeled floor jack that is solider than that.

Some day I'll shoot a picture of it and put it up for sale.

I've only got 4 jacks for motorcycles in my garage.

They all work good.   Some better than the others.

I was saving up for the Kendon as it seemed my best bet for space saving. Was on a ride with a friend where I had no cell service. When we stopped for a break my friend had a text from my wife to have me call asap. My Uncle was trying to surprise me a gift to be delivered to me, but turns out UPS in London had no way to deliver the crates. They were going to charge him something ridiculous daily until picked up at their location in London. Cut ride short and headed with truck to get it and found the Titan waiting for me. Takes up more space then I would have wanted, but have found a way to live with it (insert sarcasm font) Thanks again Uncle Dave  cooldude

Hey Dreamaker

You say its the same size on the floor.. Do you mean the width or stance between the legs is the same?  Does the bike feel solid up in the air? If you are pulling or wiggling the bike while working on it, does it feel as if it could tip the whole stand? Those are my concerns, otherwise looks good to me. Easiest to work under and easiest to store!  Firefighter

Guess I would have to look more. 28inch wide at the floor,, I don't know how wide the other lifts are?  Do you think that if you tripped and  fell against the bike while up on the lift it could fall over? I just have not seen one in person, still interested. Thanks for info.  Firefighter

BF, If your asking what brand of lift I have seen at the bike shops, I never checked as I was not interested at that time, but I do remember some seemed to be kind of shaky to me, would not want to lean up against them with a heavy bike on. So, that is what I was clarifying about the kendon lift. The lift looks good, easy to store, and easy to get under. Thanks for all input  Firefighter

It all depends on what you like, how you plan to use it and what things you plan to do to your bike once it's up on a lift.

If I had the room, hands down, I'd buy this.....

If I had the room for a table lift, was broke, cheap, didn't wanna spend the money and needed a lift, I might buy this (a bunch of folks on this board have one...but remember, you get what you pay for)....

I like this one also, it's pretty versatile, but it's REALLY spendy at about 2 grand, PLUS, there's no hydraulics to bleed/leak down...AND, did I mention that it's about TWO GRAND    uglystupid2.....

I've researched and looked at just about every lift option out there, and for me, my needs and space requirements, I'm convinced that this fits the bill perfectly, PLUS, there's NO hydraulics to bleed or leak down.....

Sorry, didn't mean it to come out that way. I just meant, may be it doesn't have the things you require and there are other alternatives out there that fit your needs.  I was the same way before I bought mine, I did a lot of looking. Now, I had one like the one BF is showing, it worked great for lifting and storing.  The only con for me was, I had to add an extension on the floor so it could not tip forward or backwards. Also it seemed after I lifted the bike, the side I needed to get at was the side that was against the lift. Other then that, it worked great, also I had the HarborFreight version.  From what I researched, I have not found one that was perfect for everything, you just have to figure what works for you in  your environment and needs.  Sorry for my bad grammar!!

You had the Big Blue lift?

I posted a video of that Harbor Freight side mount single arm lift...it's junk pure and simple.

The one I posted as having is the Titan (1st one BF  posted in his series of picks). I just happen to have the side additions on so I don't have to store them elsewhere. It takes space but is top notch and a gift so I didn't have a choice. I think the big blue lift looks top notch also for what it can do.

I know this reply is late but I’ve just found it following a link. I had a red one many years ago maybe 20. I put mt gl1100 on it and a Harley Glide. The red one is the lighter model. It was very stable. I think they would not still be selling them after 20 Years if bikes fell off. My only issue I had with it was getting to the side the post is on.
