Hello all,

I haven't really ridden my I/S for sometime and I even forgot how to sync the carbs. I have a Twinmax synchronizer but I lost the instructions on how to do it on the Valk. I know there are some instruction on the Tech Board but for a different sync instrument. If you have a PDF file save somewhere I would appreciate if you can share it. TIA

Sync gauges are sync gauges. Just attach vacuum lines to the vacuum ports and adjust each carburetor to match #3 [ which is the non-adjustable one].

Oh My Gosh, your bike is about to self-destruct !  No sync ? Isn't that against some law ?

I'd be willing to bet that it'll still stand up a nickel.

No, but if feels much smoother with the carbs synchronized. And you can certainly hear it on idle.
My I/S has just 30K and although I don't ride it much I like keeping it in top shape. Nice to know I could get up to 130K. ;-)

Generally, if the carbs have been sync'd once in the past, you shouldn't have to touch them again unless they've been worked on.

You would win that bet Patrick, I do the nickel trick all the time.  Sometimes at the request of people that know about it and want their friends to see it, Always works

Turn the Twinmax on and zero the meter.  Turn the sensitivity all the way up.  Put the A vacuum line on #3.  Put the B vacuum line on #4.  Crank the bike and watch the needle, if it hovers to the right of zero turn the sync screw on #4 to the left until it hovers over zero.  If it hovers to the left side of zero turn the sync screw on #4 to the right until it hovers over zero.  If you have not desmogged your bike put a golf tee or similar item into the vacuum line that you removed from #3 and move on to the next cylinder.  I usually just do # 2 and #6 while on that side and then go back to the right side and do #1 and then #5.  Take the gold tee out and put all the lines back on.
