I have an 82 GL1100 DD that I had Red-Koted.

Read up starting here:  http://www.randakksblog.com/fuel-tank-radiator-repair/

I had Bill do mine when it was still under resurrection and I was visiting the homeland. Worth stopping in if you get nearby, especially if you admire Studebakers and enjoy "shops" of all sorts.  Bill will receive and ship back, for a fee, in YOUR packaging.

No experience with the Kreem, sorry.
My Red-Kote has been flawless, based on performance and busted open filters.
Bill does a great job (but your cage will smell all the way home).

YMMV.

I read an article about cleaning motorcycle gas tanks and watched several youtube vids on using cider vinegar to clean gas tanks and derust them.I thought  for $3 why not try.Spent  10 days turning tank 1/4 turn every day and letting it sit for atleast 24 hours before turning again making sure every part of tank was covered with vinegar.I drained tank and it's clean of rust and old gas.It is pitted where the heavy rust was but doesn't leak.Sprayed WD40 in it to keep it from rusting again till it goes back on bike. You must use cider vinegar NOT WHITE and it will remove the rust

I used the kreem combo pack on my 73 Z1 Kawasaki 5 yrs ago. It has performed flawlessly. Look in the tank and you would not know it had anything done to it.

Fill the tank with Evapo-Rust and clean it up. No fuss no muss.  If tank is in good shape, just keep it full of gas when it's stored for longer periods of time. If it's badly pitted, cream it.

Actually I'm in the middle of using the fuel tank electrolysis method of rust removal...

Then I've decided to  use the Red-Kote to seal it.    cooldude
