Unfortunately, Helen and I missed the volcano ride a while back, so we're making up for it. On Sunday we head out for Crater Lake, generally following the route that the group took previously. We'll finish that off with a ride down the coast highway from just north of Fort Bragg down to Cambria. We won't be taking the Valk this time, but I hope to be joining you all for a Valkyrie ride before the year is out. Ride safe.

We made it home late Saturday safe and sound, with a little over 2,700 miles added to the speedo. The worst days were the first, from Peoria to Bishop and the last from Barstow to Peoria. Except for the last 80 miles into Bishop, the road through Vegas was boring and the trip from Barstow was hot and mainly freeway.

The days in between were fabulous. We went around the north side of Lake Tahoe, through Lassen and spent the second night in Burley, then went on to Crater lake and spent the third night in Medford. From there we headed for the coast on 98, 299, 101 and 1, spending the next night in Fort Bragg. Then it was Hwy 1 down through Cambria, with a night in Santa Cruz, across 46 then 58 through Bakersfield to our last night in Barstow.

It's good to be home, but the call of the road is very strong and the next trip isn't that far away.
