For those of you that haven't heard, A couple of weeks ago my son was t-boned by a car. The collision left him with several broken teeth, a lacerated tongue, multiple cracked ribs, a fractured spine, head-to-toe road-rash, and a below-the-knee amputated left leg. At first it seemed that everyone was well insured, but we soon found out that the driver at fault had let her insurance lapse and Joe did not have uninsured motorist coverage. He does have health insurance, but with a high deductible, co-pays, and out-of-pocket expenses, the debt is really adding up. Joe is married with a 2- year-old son. He is the family’s main financial contributor and he is currently drawing only 30% of his pay while on disability. He is overwhelmed with the expenses, the recovery, and the rehab and in the end all he really wants to do is get a prosthetic leg, get back to work and get his life back in order. So here I am VRCC family, asking for your help. Sly established a fundraising account on giveforward.com and any contribution, however small, would be greatly appreciated. Our goal is to show Joe that people out there do care and that 'we', as a community, are willing to lift him up and help him through these uncertain times. https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/3wp5/help-joe-get-a-new-leg-?utm_source=giveforward&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=donation_notify_oganizer

I don't want to pay a $8.40 transaction fee. Yeah Yeah I know the website has to be paid for.
Got a Paypal account I can send a gift - thereby no fee.
OR
An address I can send a check?

Jess, PayPal must've changed since I last used it. My memory is that making it a gift avoided the fee and a gift is exactly what it is.

I talked with Joe yesterday, and the money has helped in reliving some of his anxiety, but the fact that so many people have contributed has really touched his heart. Whereas a couple days ago he was overwhelmed with despair, he is now overwhelmed by your love..... Thanks The email for paypal is slyone122 (at) yahoo (dot) com

I just emailed all my non Valkyrie riding friends I don't normally do this kind of thing but...................................... From the Honda Valkyrie forum and it's not a scam. OK. "For those of you that haven't heard, A couple of weeks ago my son was t-boned by a car. Anyone wanting to donate can do so with Paypal by using this email. Send as a gift. That way no fees are deducted. slyone122@yahoo.com Thanks, Paul
