I rode to the diner for our typical sunday breakfast. I pulled into a parking spot and there a couple Harley riders next to me just sitting on the bikes talking.
I nodded and started getting off when they asked if I had seen any other riders. It appeared they were waiting for some others. I said I hadn't and they seemed to then realize I wasn't on a Harley and then turned away. They then decided to ask over their shoulders if there was a good diner in the area. I directed them to one down the road while they watched me then walk into the one I parked in front of. They drove away.

Patrick,
I've experienced the same sort of thing but not just from Harley riders, I get that same coolness from BMW snobs. How about Victory owners, are they cliquish?

I'll never forget when 2 HD looking dudes with HD jackets on came over to my all black Valk I/S after just waxing/cleaning it up which I rarely do all summer while I was walking out of my local grocery store.  They got up REAL close and saw the Honda logo and they backed off REAL quick like it wasn't worth riding or something even though they were thoroughly intrigued like what kind of HD is this?

I got 1/2 way to my cycle and they were long gone.  I just laughed and laughed and laughed.

You know they are jealous they just are too pig headed to admit it been drinking the kool-aid way, way too long.  The HD mentality of if it doesn't say HD, it is not worth riding is stupid thinking and I am always at every possible occasion, if provoked first,  informing them as such whether they like it or not.  cooldude

I would never say, being serious, to any other cycle rider if it doesn't say HOnda, it is not worth riding.  To say such a comment just shows your ignorance.

Same way with vehicles.  I may think my toyota tundra is the best 1/2 ton truck on the market, but for some people it may not be for one reason or another.

Say, it has been cool nights as well coming home right before midnight as well dipping down into the 40's - BRRR.  Old man winter is knocking on our doors WAY too early.  Angry

I dunno. I think I'm the only one within 200 miles in any direction. I experience all the same social graces with all the other riders as I did with the Valk. Most are sociable-some are not. I still hang out "here", not sure what that means as far as being cliquish goes.  Cool
