Being caught out in a hailstorm is no fun. 
Thankfully, the local Big R let me wait it out on their porch for awhile.

Did that once in southeast Az, no where to go no underpasses, no building, no cover. I was in the process of laying the bike down on top of me when thank goodness it stopped. Had my helmet on but it was bruising my shoulders and hurt like hell.

Yep, I got pelted going up the pass monday evening, marble sized hail.  Like riding on marbles.

Hail sucks. On top of laying both bike down on the off ramp we were covered in bruises from the hail.

I feel your pain!  On the road to Frisco, CO this year, Dave in Frisco, Janet, and I rode through a pretty bad rain storm that had some pea sized hail in it.  The only REAL problem was that we were on the Million Dollar Highway (550) down in the canyon riding the switch backs that we couldn't see.  The hail didn't help anything.

But we lived through it and it HAS made us stronger because of it.

on I-26, just S. of the big rest area on the W. side of 26.  I had stopped to put on the rain gear, and had on thin leather gloves, but it was stinging the heck out of my hands.  Nowhere to hide, just kept riding out of the storm.
