Cry  Well, since I was laid off from my job the end of March, I am now forced to try to sell my 2000 Interstate with a loving 43311 miles on her...Pearl Blue/Silver with OEM Bag Rails and many more extras.  If interested, see my ad in the Classifides...I really hate to see her go, but I've got to do something to buy a little extra time before I have to sell other toys...

Everyone ride safe and maybe I'll be back someday!!!

Sorry to hear this.  Have u thought of just selling off some of the add-ons? The OEM Saddle Bag Rails usually fetch $1K for example. At least u might be able to keep the bike.
God Bless.

Retired from law enforcement after 30 years, then went into installing law enforcement software for 8 years...economy took its toll on agencies money too so company started cutting back...I was considered a system consultant where I installed the software, did trouble shooting on the software and assisted the trainers when they were training the users on the new software...I'm in West Texas in Odessa right now...former company let me work from home and travel from here since we have a local airport nearby and I can get anywhere pretty quickly...

My Valk is paid for as well...I should probably sell my 2008 Shelby GT Mustang instead, that would save me about $700.00 a month...LOL, but it's so much fun!!!!  Oh well, I probably couldn't get the pay off out of the Shelby now...prices on them dropped like a rock when everything else went down...

I've toyed with that thought too, only because I've been laid off and out of work since February, then the wife got laid off after 18 years with the same company. I actually had it up for sale. Then listened to some guy who new ZOT about a Valkyrie try to kill my already low price. I talked with the wife about this and we decided no matter how tight things get, I won't part with it and she is in agreement with me. Too many good times and way too much invested. I could never replace it for what they bring now. The money would be gone over night and so would the bike. Then I'd really be depressed. Sad  I feel your pain brother, hang in there!

Its tough here too.  I have been doing odd jobs since the first of the year, and have one of those resumes that you either wouldn't believe or would love to have.  My valk is paid for, and I have decided that it will stay part of my life.  I sold my other one back in 2004 during my divorce and the short time I spent without it sucked....

I hope the day does not come that I have to start travelling via airplane all over to make a living again, but I fear that my little town just isn't going to keep me in dollars much longer without the oil and gas business doing a bit more than it is..   But then again, what would I do somewhere else... my Info Technology days are a thing of the past, and I doubt that what I remember about ERP software is of benefit to anyone....ramble ramble ramble!  Besides, I would rather build something or even burn welding rods with my old Lincoln I still have mounted on my old welding truck..which is also paid for and making me a living right now, though it is slow!

Speaking of selling Valks, I often wonder who ended up with mine.  I never met him, my ex wife handled it.  It was a black 99 I/S, had about 18 or 19k on it with a car tire on the rear...studded honda seat with a utopia backrest.  Was picked up near Louisburg, NC.  I think the person that bought it lived in the Northern U.S.. perhaps Wisconsin or Minnesota or something.  Perhaps they are on this board???

see ya,

Ah, come on now...UTPB tuition is nothing like it would be at Austin!  But they ARE the highest rated school in the UT system...

Thanks for all the encouragement guys...I know I'm not the only one in this boat...but I know I'm not the only one pointing a finger at Mr. Obama either...Sorry, I just can't bring myself to call him Mr. President...as far as I'm concerned, I wish Texas would become a Republic again and close her borders...we can handle our own stuff here...She's a GREAT STATE, and I can't think of any place else that I'd want to live...

For everyone looking for a job, Let's just keep each other in our prayers that something will come along soon.

Thanks again everyone!  This is a GREAT forum...If I sell the Valk, I'll still stop in from time to time to see what's going on...

I'm not disagreeing with your politics, but if Texas closed their borders how could OU get to Dallas to kick UT's butt????   Grin

We might let a few Okies in for a good game now and then....

Thought I had the Interstate sold, but the gentleman backed out today....Said he rode a Interstate in Florida and thought that his Road King was a better ride....Now I don't know what was wrong with the Interstate that he rode, but I've ridden a Road King before for a couple of years, and I hated that thing!!!  Each to their own I guess....

Would be good news for your community if they were ready to go right now and didn't have to depend on Federal Loans to get started...Unfortunately, I don't think law enforcement agencies are going to be able to afford a $40,000.00 vehicle for their fleets...Most agencies that I worked for had trouble buying Crown Vics for $20,000.00 each and outfitting each of them...I know they did not spend an additional $20,000.00 for lights, radios, etc. for the cars, so like I said, I don't see Carbon Motors doing an awful lot of business with prices "starting at $40,000.00"...
