That is one of the most common accidents.  Sorry to hear but glad he survived.

Glad it wasn't any worse.  Prayers coming his way.

Keep an eye on him for a few days... sometimes those noggin' bumps can wreak havoc several days after the fact.

Here is a update--Blair, Lil Bull, is going to be sore for a while.  Broken L1 (lower back) guess not much they can do for that and some stitches on his nose or lip.  Head must of been hard enough to with stand the blow.  He dam sure better be wearing a helmet from now on!!!

He said he saw the car turning in front of him and had slow down to less than 10 -15 mph when she hit him.

To all,  Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers

You all ride safe,

Mike

One more update---Blair is home now, said the only thing that does'nt hurt is when he blinks!!  Will take a few days to start feeling better I'm sure.  Will start looking for parts to rebuild soon, just not sure what we need yet.
We all should hug our loved ones today and show appreciation everyday.
Thanks for all the good vibes.  This was a close one.

Hi everyone! I'm about the luckiest guy in NM right now.  Took an SUV to the face and walked away, sort of.  I got a broken vertibrae and a few stitches, but was released from the ER late last night.  I feel like I was hit by a truck but it could have been SO much worse... Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes.
I'll get some pics posted from Inzane9 now that I got a profile here.  No news yet about the bike, it looked bad through the blood I was spitting.  The forks looked bent and engine cover/guard was smashed.  One of the brand new highway pegs I bought from Robin in Frisco got folded in half.  They carted me off in an ambulance real quick so all I got was the towing reciept in my bag of clothes when they released me.  I'll track it down today and start gathering police reports and pics to get the insurance ball rolling.
I'll keep you posted with updates.
Thanks again for all your prayers!

lol!  Blair, you WERE hit by a truck.   Shocked

I am so glad that you were able to walk away (sort of) from it.

Just from your brief observations, the bike is a total loss from an insurance point of view.  Get it into your possession as soon as you can.  Hopefully you'll be able to replace your ride with the insurance settlement.  Retain the old bike, if you can, so that you can strip or part it out yourself.

Be safe, Lil Bull.  I'm glad you came through this experience more or less whole.

VERY Good news Blair!  Happy to hear that you got to come home.  Hope you get your bike from the lot soon.  The quicker the better the salvage process will go.  If the bike sits out in the weather too long, stuff starts to go bad....

Again, welcome home, glad to have ya.

Blair,

I was working last night and you sent me a text with the accident low down and I thought it was a joke.... and then I get the pic of you in your gown at the hospital and my goodness it hit and I said a prayer for you and hoped that you would have a speedy recovery.  I started to post last night at work when I got on here and saw that your dad had started this post and then when I went to post it it erased my message  Angry    Stupid internet tickedoff

Anyhow... I was glad to talk to you on the phone this evening and you seemed to be in good spirits... Like solo1 said and your dad had mentioned... Please wear a helmet... I have an extra if you need it  cooldude

Let me know what you need and I will be more than happy to donate parts for your bike...  I had a great time hanging out with you at InZane and talking w/ your dad about r/c planes and helicopters...  I think you two should buy these and fly them together... They are a lot of fun and I think even your old man can figure out how to fly one...  Don't worry Mike, they are indestructable... trust me  Wink

http://www.hobbyzone.com/rc_planes_hobbyzone_super_cub.htm

Take care bro and keep intouch...  I'll come down and visit you when you get to feeling better...
