Hello again Gang. I'm working the bugs out my 99 Std I bought recently, have a buzz in the front wheel. Doesn't have a bearing feel but certainly is tied to the wheel rotation. Almost reminds me of a baseball card in the spokes kind of sound. Speedo works properly, brakes are solid, no vibration or chatter. Anyone have a clue? you guys have been very helpful and I appreciate your kindness.  coolsmiley

look at the end of the axle on the clutch side.  If its not exactly flush with the outer edge of the fork, then the left fork lower is out of position, or you could say the axle isint in all the way.

You need the front wheel off the ground (on a lift) then loosen the axle nut and then all 4 pinch bolts.  Then make sure the left fork is held out so the axle is not protruding ANY and tighten the left pinch bolts.  Then retorque the axle nut and then tighten the right pinch bolts

That was my 1st thought.

If you have access to a impact wrench, put the hurt on that long bolt.

I tightened mine on MGM about 400,000 miles ago and no rattle (buzz) since.

Whenever The buzz bolt on my bike "buzzed" I would never describe it as "baseball cards in spokes"

But, its worth checking too

Just curious:
1. has it done this since you bought it?
2. have you had the front wheel off?
3. is it worse with the front brakes apples?

Sorry, of course I meant 'applied'. Then the computer stepped in and wrote what it thought I meant. Hate it when it does that!

BUZZ Bolt. Who would have thunk it. No, I haven't had the wheel off and yes since I got it 2 weeks ago. I'll take a look at both suggestions saturday. I'll let you all know Thanks

The buzz bolt is a likely suspect but the "card in the spokes" description makes me think it may be something else.

The Valkyrie has a bit of sound deadening insulation across the inside top of the front fender.  When it starts to come loose it will rubb against the front tire making a very rotation related sound, but not a loud sound.  Check under the fender just to be sure.

Willow if that is the case there will be a shiny stipe on the tire where that rubber insulator is rubbing.
I didn't think of that but have seen it a few times.
