Good job and like Mike said quick too. Not only are you an outboard expert but now a Valkyrie carb expert. If there are any spots on the chrome we have found that Big Lots sells a box of fine steel wool pads impregnated with soap (can I say that here?) for I think it was $1 or so. They work very well on things like the crash bars etc. to remove the small rusty pitting. Of course you will need to wax real well after using them and keep it waxed. I truly was amazed at how well it cleaned them up and didn't leave the chrome all scratched but did remove most of the pitting. Just don't try it with anything else that is too coarse.

Yeah Terry, they're called Brillo pads. Not really, just had to add that. I might stop and see if I can find those, we have a Big Lots nearby. I'll make good use of them on the 1200 project. Pappy, sounds good, can Lesa sit and ride it ok or is it still too high?

Not a virgin on Valk carbs. But....on this one I replaced a total of: 64 O-rings 12 seals 10 hoses Cut valves, fuel rails, air rails were all done on this one.
John - I installed 11.5 inch shocks in place of the IS shocks that were on it. My saddleman seat is lower than an Ultimate Low Boy, so that is on it. She can flat-foot it now! She got on it and we did about a 30 miler today after going and doing some low speed work. Cul-de-sacs and a traffic circle to get her used to the difference between the 1100 and this one.
Terry - I use 0000 steel wool pads with either chrome polish or WD-40 depending on what I am after with them. Works well.
