We seem to have a lot in common in our group. We have a pretty good group of Guy's and Gal's that like to get together and shoot sporting clays out @ http://mytbsc.com/

If anyone in this group is interested in this, I will post the time & dates prior to when we go. They always have a Steaks & Clays Day the first Thursday of every month and the food is Outstanding.

Just putting it out there in case there are some that want to join in on the fun !!

I recently purchased a Mossberg 500, Tactical 12 gauge, 6 shot, 18.5" LPA sights.  Can this be used? It's no skeet gun?
What is the difference between skeet shooting, trap shooting and sporting clay shooting? Is it the same?  I'm no novice to firearms, but I've never done this type of shooting and would enjoy trying.

Trap shooting is pretty much clay target going straight out and away from u

Skeet shooting are targets that come across u from left and right angles at different speeds and elevations.

Sporting Clays which is the most fun, are shot at a bunch of different stations. The clays will be shot from all directions, incoming, outgoing, overhead, side to side, Rabbits will cross in front of u from left or right rolling across the ground.

There are some stations that the clays are bounced off a trampoline. This type of shooting is really good practice if u like to hunt game birds, because birds will flush in all different directions and the scenarios are basically the same.

Check out the link I put in the post, it will give u more info. It is loads of fun and the better u get the more challenging the course u can shoot at.

The gun u have is more of a defensive type shotgun. If u come to the clays shoot with us there will always be different types of Sporting Clays guns for u to try. U can even rent clay guns there if u choose. But our group of shooters have some real high end Guns for u to try.

And of course the Raffle Girls are always fun !!

We do a bit of that up here as well at the Eustis Gun Club. Havent done it in ages but have been thinking about getting back into it as soon as the snowbirds head back.

I would be interested if my schedule permits. I mostly shoot IDPA handgun matches but have shot quite a few sporting clay events held at our club in Palm Bay.  www.pmrpc.com

Also Bruce, they don't use 00 Buckshot either.  More like #8.
