Ordered and got in a new front tire. Mounted and put in dynabeads.
Ordered and put in new front wheel bearings and dust seals as the others were showing strong signs of wear.
Ordered new fork seals, dust boots, new bushings, and the works. rebuilt the forks and put in Amsoil #15 suspension fluid.

Sun came out today...warmed up from the snow days to almost 70 degrees F today. Rushed home from work to take a ride on my newly repaired Valk......NOPE.......Battery shorted out .....AND.....my flippin' battery charger gave up the ghost...today.  tickedoff  tickedoff  tickedoff

Now I gotta talk with the CFO and see if we have money for me to get a battery.  Embarrassed  Embarrassed

What battery is everybody buying and using in their Valks????

I use the Yuasa that is specified. Some are having luck with the wally wurld batteries. Just looked at Honda direct line parts new Yuasa is I believe $73.00 which these days ain't too shabby!  2funny Look at Amazon and evil bay and get the lowest price and see if your dealer will price match or come close. My dealer elected to price match when I needed a battery.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

I have had EXCELLENT service from Odyssey PC680's.   That same size worked for my recently departed '84 Aspencade, my '78 GL1000 and my '94 VMax.  Not sure what size the Valk needs, but I can enthusiastically recommend the Odyssey.

I recently replaced one in my Aspencade that ran well for 5 years.  And we're talking Arizona abuse.  The one in the VMax is going on 5 years.  They survive deep discharges better than wet cells, and their "natural discharge rate" is much slower than wet cells (meaning they don't go flat nearly as quickly).

Two thumbs up.

Stick with Yuasa, but get it through an MC shop.  Do NOT buy a Yuasa battery from a discount battery store...they are not the same.  I was told this at a....................discount battery store!   Shocked

If you like your batteries to last longer than 2 years,  stay away from WalMart.  This is where "don't ask how I know this" applies.  Two batteries from WalMart.  Neither made it to the 2 year mark.  And there is only a couple of dollars difference between WalMart and Yuasa.  Just not worth the gamble.

Just passing along my 2 cents and what I have experienced.   Wink

My personal favorite is Motobatt. It's a 4 terminal battery which means that all those extra connections to your battery can be on the spare terminals instead of cramming everything together. I've had really good life and luck with them - so far. I liked them much better when they were closer to $69. I got mine on Amazon with free Prime shipping.

They're similar to this one.

Yuasa.

My original 2002 battery is still working fine, it's in my riding mower now.

I replaced it with another of the same so I could sleep better.
