Am I reading that correctly, 1729 cubic inches?  WOW.  All though there is little to gain perspective from, it looks like it could have at least an 8" stroke on that connecting rod journal.  What a beast!

Thanks for the post Patrick.

Wow, some torque when it first started. My sweet wife watched it, said it reminds her of me when I first get up in the morning....without the fire belching from the side.  Grin

The sound of that engine sounds somewhat like the old round engines I was familiar with in Uncle Sugars Canoe Club.  cooldude An amazing old automobile.  coolsmiley RIDE SAFE.

The huge four cylinder engine has a 7.5-inch bore x 9.843-inch stroke with a 1729 c.i.d. (28 liters) and it produces 300-h.p; each cylinder displaces 432 c.i.

Each piston is over 4 Valkyries in displacement.

What an amazing machine!

Somewhere I remember seeing the beginning of the resto on that car. They fired the engine at that point as well and the engine was exposed for the first fire up. Pretty amazing.

Sure did, and was thinking how far apart those two vehicles are from the stand point of technology and metallurgical advances.
