I'm going to start a new thread on this trip, hope no one minds. We have gone to 3 pages on the other thread and I thought we should start over. I emailed the Smoky Falls Lodge ( http://smokyfallslodge.com ) yesterday to see where we stood on reservations. They have been so nice and we still have rooms blocked at our discounted price. She responded with: Hi Jeff,
Yes the weather is beginning to get warm and we are so ready! You have
eight rooms that have been booked and nine rooms still blocked at your
group rate. Normally we unblock the rooms about four weeks out from the
arrival date so that we don't lose
any reservations but if anyone from your group calls after that date and
we have availability we will still honor the group rate. Look forward
to having you stay with us and hope you have a wonderful day.
We are in good shape room wise. We are at a little less then 2 months from the trip. Is any one else still interested in going? Bill (Grumpy), Bert?, Beuller???  I also wanted to copy over Jacks post regarding Bill (Billd598) wanting to share a room. Two months away folks, road trip will be here before you know it.
Anyone else thinking of going and would like a roomie, Bill (Billd598) has a room with two queens and he is looking for to share the room.
Starting to get excited here. The time will shoot by and be here before you know it. This should be a blast! Pennies post: Gils post: Rick's post: Looks like Kristie and I along with Eddie and Kim will be up at the Fatherinlaws cabin just outside Bakersville N.C.
The Cabin is approximately just under 2-hours away from Maggie Valley.
Will be hooking up with everyone for some great riding. Plan on being up there thru the first week of June incorporating the front and back weekends.
As we get closer to this we will be in contact as to meeting up !!!!!!

Might be a good idea to add the hotel address and group rate again. I am planning on dropping in for a few rides and then heading to my sisters house. Doubtful that I'll be staying at ground zero.

When you speak to them to make a reservation, tell them you are with the "Florida Valkyrie Riders". Their cancellation policy is 2 weeks before but she said they are flexible on that. We will also have to be checked out on Friday the 5th due to the entire lodge being rented out starting on that Friday. The prices for the rooms are $99. for the $119. and $79 for the $99. Pretty good discount I thought, about 20%. I posted the link to the lodge above but if this helps, here it is: For reservations or more information:

If all goes well we are going to try to be there during that time period. We will be camping of course but we have in the past spent several hours a night in the big Gazebo out front. There is covered bike parking out front on the left side of the property. And Jonathan Creek flows on the back side of the property. Another gathering spot near the creek to tell lies. We are planning on maybe 2 or 3 weeks if possible. |

If memory serves me correctly Smoky Falls doesn't do breakfast but I could easily be mistaken on that point.

Just going to drop a quick note to let you all know we are so excited to see each of you. Mike & I did cancel our reservation at Smokey Falls Lodge but don't panic...... we are staying at another hotel. Only because we can get 1 room at a very special rate and its one of those "too good to pass up" kinda things. We will be there with yall!!! I promise!!!!
