Here are the current routes my daughter, Emily, and I plan to take to and from Inzane.  One motel stay on the way there, and three nights camping on the way back.

To Inzane

Looks to be mid-400s both legs in...certainly doable, with ample daughter bonding time. cooldude

Enjoy Yellowstone on the way home.  Still our favorite National Park of ALL we've had the good fortune to visit here in the States.  Thermals, critters...it has it all.

Looking forward to meeting Emily!  Ride safe with your precious cargo...See you in Spearfish.

You will love Colter Bay. They have a Hiker/Biker camp area: no cars. Be aware of bears. They have bear boxes and you need to follow the rules about food and stove storage. Other than that, I loved the Tetons.

I'm looking forward to seeing you two again as well, although supper at a pub might be out, depending on local laws.

Emily may be ample in some respects, but certainly not the way you're thinking!  It's Kevin, and I used Google Maps on Firefox for the map, then tweaked it a bit with Windows Paint.

Other than convenience store night snacks, we'll only be eating in restaurants.  You can't carry much food and cooking equipment on a bike without a trailer without looking like this:

From the 212 & I-90 split in MT there to Bel Fourche is no hotels, that I remember. Cant recall any camping either. From that split is a good ride to Bel Fourche then onto Spearfish. Easily done in daylight hrs as I would not ride it near dark. Had some forest fires so it made it slow for me.

I'll be taking one day from White Sulphur Springs to Spearfish, so I won't be concerned about accommodations. As long as there's gas, I'm good.

If passing thru Cody this is worth an hour or two.

We're going to do a little pre-trip self-education about the local history (Wild Bill, Custer, etc.), and that stop would be fun and relevant, but logistics and priorities will have us miss Cody.  Maybe some other time.

On the way back from IZ I'm also going to try to hit Bozeman, Montana. I have a first and second cousin that both live there. I haven't seen them in about 35 years. I think it's also a beautiful area.

Wiggy,

If 35 years is pushing the "spend the night with family" quotient please allow me to suggest the Royal 7 Motel in Bozeman. cooldude

Check it out.. great location and they let us wash our bikes in the parking lot during our cross-country trip last year!  Don't expect the Hilton, but if you love one of those U-shaped family motels this is the place.

Really good BBQ joint just across the street.  A charitable restaurant serving the disadvantaged operates next door, but we had no issues and we even had a couple of Valk conversations with the patrons.

Can't beat the price, and the neon sign at night is worth the visit! Cheesy

Woton, thanks for the recommendation. I will look into that. While my cousin would be happy to put me up, I told them I'd rather not impose as they have a small house.
